Kansas City Film Fest Cancer Tribute

Quick look at some of the offerings of a local cinema tradition. Here's a great write-up on a powerful personal story:

KU professor to debut comedic play about bladder cancer at Kansas City film festival

Bringing a new element of awareness to comedic plays, Mechele Leon is shining a light on bladder cancer, while getting audiences laughing in the process. Written and performed by Leon, a professor in the Department of Theatre at the University of Kansas, "Bladder Interrupted" is a one-woman show telling the story of how she was diagnosed with and treated for bladder cancer, and how she survives after having her bladder removed.
