An agreement will allow the Universal Floodwater Detention TIF plan to be terminated seven years early, which means about $17 million in tax revenue will be redirected to the taxing jurisdictions during that span. In addition, the agreement calls for refunding $6.3 million in the plan's special allocation fund to the taxing jurisdictions, minus the city.
Getting a reasonable solution for schoolkids and the disabled was not easy. Grass roots advocates and and the blog community made the difference.
