A Conservative vendetta continues against an institution that has lost cash, jobs and funding because of how badly they fumbled a racial ruckus. However, they recently set a fundraising record and it might be time to challenge online Internets trolls who would gladly sacrifice University life in Missouri in order to justify their own miserable existence. Two years after University of Missouri protests, college can't shake negative image
It's been nearly two years since racially fueled protests on the campus of the University of Missouri drew national attention - and the school still hasn't fully recovered. Freshman enrollment plummeted between 2015 and last year. For the first time since 2007, the freshman class dropped below 6,000 students.
All of that which took place and the political fallout has actually done me a favor. Mizzou football tickets are on sale for discounts. I just bought tickets for the 3 non-conference games for half-off from MU.

With enrollment plummeting by 40% and the state reducing its funding, MU desperately needs all the private fund raising it can find.

Has the professional "student" who had been on campus for EIGHT years when he suddenly discovered how terrible the school was ever "graduated", or is he still there living his decade in those awful circumstances?
His dad's a senior executive who earns over $1 million/year, so you would think he could study pretty much anywhere he wants.
Also, how's the $1 million or so being spent on a diversity bureaucracy and programs working out attracting students?
Cowardice and poor decisions rarely contribute to successful organizations.
The entire brou ha ha was a complete fabrication from the outset. Another Race Hoax that gave militant, mid seventy IQ "skolars", with questionable long division skills, "room to destroy".
ReplyDeleteThe University did indeed "squander a chance...". The administrators should have expelled the football team, fired the idiot coach for cause and stopped the intimidators and cleared the public square with force.
Enrollment would be through the roof.
The folks laid off, were probably blue collar slugs who don't deserve it while the professors who encouraged the unrest continue to suck the blood out of our wallets and poison the children who show up for an "education".
To all those professors who started this entire mess to get rid of the president - how is it working out for you?
ReplyDeleteI like how the story has been saying the blacks aren't enrolling when Mizzous own stats say they have increased slightly each year. The blacks even have made the school drop the incoming freshman act numbers to 25.5 for enrolling. God I love whiny azz black biotches
ReplyDeleteOP, you don't see Engineering profs starting this garbage, but the University shoved a "diversity coordinator" down the throats of the Engineering College at $150k/yr. For what? No one knows. The Engineering college is probably one of the most diverse, but the diversity doesn't come from the preferred "blacks", its "browns (Asians)" and "yellows (Eastern Asians)", which are apparently lumped into a white category by progrssives. When I was in grad school, I was an absolute minority (lilly white).

ReplyDeleteOne was real racism issue. Missouri is KC and St. Louis with 230 miles of Mississippi in between. That can be tough on kids from the city.
Also, Mizzou suffers from the absurd idea that "businessmen" are qualified -- by virtue of being rich and retired -- to actually run educational institutions. It is something that rarely ends well. Like being a surgeon because you played on TV. The Fool in Charge just made things worse every time he opened his mouth.
2:22, the entire administration at MU can be replaced easily and cheaply from the invertebrates exhibit at the St. Louis Zoo. And the school would be better governed by selecting people to do it randomly from the Columbia phone book than putting the MU faculty in charge.
