TKC READER NOTE: TOY TRAIN STREETCAR EXTENSION THREATENS TO THWART MIDTOWN KANSAS CITY TRAFFIC!!!

Most of mainstream media is filled with nothing but City Hall propaganda and corporate hype regarding the toy train and its impending progress.

However . . .

CHECK THIS KICK-ASS NOTE WITH A PRACTICAL REMINDER THAT CONSTANT STREETCAR DELAYS THREATEN EVEN MORE TRAFFIC TROUBLE IF THE PROPOSED RIGGED VOTE EXTENSION MOVES FURTHER ALONG MAIN ST. !!!

Here's the word . . .

Friend riding the streetcar just sent this message at 1 pm: "Streetcar is stopped for an hour because of car parked over the line."

Can you imagine how much more it would be stalled if it was extended five more miles?

Doesn't happen to a bus.

Comments

  1. This is the best case scenario. You fail to mention the initial construction nightmare that had restaurants yelling bloody murder.

  2. Big fat mayor is way over the line

  3. The extension has to have its own dedicated lane. Otherwise it will be the worst form of transit ever. Take a full hour to get from the plaza to downtown.

  4. That's what you said about Main Street the last time, but it didn't happen.

    But keep pushing your bullshit.

  6. Streetcar is a scam.

The only people who LOVE it are those getting paid to promote it.

  7. Why don't the city just buy Worlds of Fun make it free for everyone and all of America will love us

Visitors in the millions from miles around will flock to the city then.

Heck we may even get a NBA team then.

Yes I know this all sounds stupid and so does adding to the street car

  9. Funny that you link to an article from 2015. They're open mondays again. And did you even wonder why their "construction complaints" led to them only closing one day a week. Was there EXTRA construction on mondays? Jeeez, you're a fixated guy

^^^ Did you pay them back all the money they lost? Did you pay back the servers and wait staff? You would be "fixated" if someone stole money for you for a pack of lies you thief @9:38.

  13. my "first" ride on the street car this father's day... smooth ride but, it truly is a "toy train" in the clearest sense...slow ride moving from stop to stop, car too narrow/small to accommodate a reasonable number of passengers for the cost associated with construction/operation (a bus clearly more effective as a people mover); if and when a rider fare is imposed, it will be yet another failed event in KC metro under wana be city administrators...oh, I'm a former citizen of KC and I don't miss the misadventures of amatuer government...
