JACKSON COUNTY EXEC FRANK WHITE FIREWORKS CANCELLATION REALLY JUST A SLAP IN THE FACE FROM LEGISLATURE!!!
News of the Jackson County Fireworks cancellation have bigger implications than just bottle rockets.
We talked about it yesterday but it's worth a quick revisit . . .
Here's more insight . . .
"(Exec) Frank White having to cancel this thing shows everyone that he can't get along, work with or compromise with the legislature. There are always budget concerns and more effective expenditures but the fact is that this event was successful according to most people at the County. To cancel it in this abrupt manner shows that there's a lot going wrong with this Administration and Frank White didn't have the ability to steer away from a public relations embarrassment. The budget, the jail lawsuits and more fees for one consultant after the next have conspired against the executive and this time it's the taxpayers who have been disappointed."
Furthermore, let's remember that this event is the 2nd biggest County endeavor . . . If a busted budget forced this move, the money crunch could already threaten Jackson County Christmas in the Park given that the jail crisis doesn't look like it's getting any better.

Can't help but notice that Frank seems out of his league here.
ReplyDeleteHe was popular as a ball player and did a good job at it but that doesn't translate into the ability to lead in local government. Frank just doesn't seem to want to do the work and delegating at the county is always a recipe for disaster.

The money for this event came out of the parks entertainment budget, that cant BY LAW be used for anything but events in the parks. Plain and simple, White didn't like the event. Too many "suburbanites" he has told. Next target: Independence's Santa=Cali-Gon festival. Too many "suburbanites" once again. Now, using county money to bus urban kids out to the suburbs? Frank was all over that. couldn't roll out a longer red carpet. I'm not for or against any of the above personally, just pointing out that Frank White, at his core, really does not like white people. That's why his former Royal's teammates don't like him.

ReplyDelete5:32 goy no problem with county not holding this event. I never thought it was necessary and I know the county didn't compensate all the employees the way they were legally required to. My problem is this BS about this event being cancelled when it was decided back in the winter not to hold it. Why act like it was all set to go and they are just like now pulling the plug?
ReplyDelete6:57 To answer your question, so Frank can blame the county legislature and not take the heat for deciding not to continue holding this event. Personally I think if we got along just fine without it before what's the big deal about not having it now. County ought to be getting it's shit together instead of hosting a big party.
