Campus Carry Sparks Wildcat Exodus

A lesson in Sunflower State Constitutional Rights and fear from University denizens. Take a look:

K-State faculty members leaving because of campus carry

The possibility of guns on K-State's campus has encouraged several faculty members to retire or find work elsewhere. David Rintoul, a former associate professor for K-State's division of biology, retired after the spring semester specifically to avoid working on a campus that allows concealed carry, he said.

  1. I don't blame the professors for leaving. Who wants to be a target for some disgruntled student?

  2. 7:51, the professor has always been a possible target for some disgruntled student. Someone intending to shoot another person is not going to be deterred by a law that bans possession of a firearm on campus.

  4. It's the time of year for snowflakes to melt. People of retirement age retiring is a real heavy hitting social statement. The CCL holder may save lives when some crazy Bernie Resistance warrior rises up.

  6. Every man, woman and child will be walking around fully strapped in 20 years in this country.

We are completely and utterly out of any ideas as a society.

    Should be great times!

  7. Holy shit! This gun thing is a great idea. Run off the god damn libtard screwball college instructors and you immediately begin to reduce the numbers of brainwashed left wing snowflakes on the streets. The Republican legislatures across the nation need to ponder this one a bit.

  8. Just goes to show that we MU grads in Missouri state government are more respected.

Call me first thing Monday morning at my MoDOT office in St. Joseph and praise me,
    Like you should.

  10. This is hilarious. The K-State Dept. of Biology has a federal secret-ish contract to research Hoof and Mouth Disease--which if the stuff escaped, would kill thousands upon thousands of people, and decimate the American cattle industry.

They also have a lab dealing with Lyme Disease, which has killed and disabled tens of thousands of citizens. Yet while they are researching a new vaccine for Lyme-related illnesses, they refuse to support reporting of existing cases of Lyme in Kansas, in fact, the German (oy veh) who heads that program loudly threatens the licenses of medical doctors who DO report medical cases.

(They want to patent a new vaccine solution before we admit what a problem we have. And the researchers at K-State would make millions--then all quit their day jobs.)

But this dude is afraid that if someone with a mental illness had a gun on campus, that having someone alert and loyal to this professor, who also had a gun, would protect him?!!!!!!!!!!

Good riddance, professor. Your reasoning abilities are too weak to be supported by science. Or the taxpayers of Kansas. You need to go elsewhere.

  11. Is there a documented problem of mentall unstable students attacking teachers or just more sky is falling fairy tales? If so why are colleges jeopardizing student safety by accepting mentally unstable students .

  12. People who carry guns are spineless.

  13. Actually, I think that anyone who can't leave the house without strapping on a gun is the real snowflake...

And JoCo Post's statements about Lyme Disease and Hoof-and-Mouth disease research in Biology at KSU are completely false. Let's see the evidence for that, please. Or admit that you just made it up. Or perhaps you are just just confused. But the Vet School, or the BRI, or at the still-under-construction NBAF is not the same as the KSU Biology Division. Get your facts straight, please.
