TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY DEVELOPERS CONNECTED TO SKETCHY 'CASH FOR VISAS' SCANDAL!!!

The Kansas City real estate development game is a lot trickier than just convincing fumbling local politicos to sign onto big promises of condo riches.

Check this very quick and dirty explanation of the cowtown "golden ticket" visa connection . . .

LIKE IT OR NOT, KANSAS CITY DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT SCHEMES ARE EMBROILED IN A FILTHY FOREIGN "CASH FOR VISAS" CONTROVERSY!!!

Here are just a few smart articles that explain the scam . . .

CityLab: Inside EB-5, the Cash-for-Visas Program Luxury Developers Love

NYTimes: How to Woo Chinese Investors: With Visa Offers and the Trump Name

Washington Post: How Jared Kushner built a luxury skyscraper using loans meant for job-starved areas

Strangely, the connection to Kansas City goes all the way to to top inasmuch as Prez Trump's son-in-law is an investor a pricey bit of Kansas City luxury real estate filled with pro-athletes and other movers and shakers and probably a few Chinese millionaires parking their money.

Again, here's another video that explains the connection and the debate among the somewhat smarter denizens of partisan slap fighting . . .

And so . . . Our blog community could care less about emoluments clause chest thumping which frustrated Hillary supporters mistakenly believe will mark the return of their queen.

More interestingly . . . Our blog community EXCLUSIVELY reports that Downtown Convention Hotel financing recently earned a boost by way of foreign investors looking to hedge their bets against a shaky global market given that Kansas City taxpayers are ultimately on the hook for this deal.

And so . . . This bit of biz tap dancing only reaffirms our blog community contention that left vs. right partisan debate serves mostly as a distraction among bored liberal arts majors whilst people who are really watching the news are following the money . . .

Developing . . .

This is all well and good. But when do we start building that wall?

Be fair TKC, foreign investment helps to create local construction jobs and also benefits local vendors do. The complexities of international trade are often lost on nativists and populists.

During Watergate, Woodward and Bernstein had to take slow, methodical steps and get told 'no' by their editor a lot. This editor had the strict ethical standards of the profession at heart.

Now, the Washington Post's newsroom erupts in cheers when they see one of their poorly vetted and irresponsibly worded attack pieces go viral. This is in line with the demonstrated full court press of hostile coverage that Trump has gotten since the election.

Sad, for so many reasons.

Nah. Like him or hate him, Trump's a more or less legitimate success story.

Mayor Bullhorn is just a dancing puppet serving real power and always will be. All he needs to know is what the dinner bell sounds like.

Sure laws like this are unfair and favor the one per cent.
Just like the tax code.
How about twisting the TDD statutes for the streetcar?
And what about abusing the CID statutes so that hotels can make use of them?
Financial law and regulation at many levels is written by lobbyists and politicians who cowtow to the one per cent and get lots of campaign contributions in return.
But, as we are forced to watch almost daily, this kind of crap happens right here in River City and the local electeds are the best cowtowers money can buy.
At least Jared plays in the majors.
