There is good news here: the salaries have INCREASED for consultants and government PR workers. They hire most of the same people and there is less of a requirement for the women to put out.

The news game is tough, it used to be one of the top careers in KC but I think the new generation, the millennials and gen z are more apt to look at jobs that pay higher on specialized industries like banking, finance, medicine or even startups for the more adventurous.

Too many journalists simply became cheerleaders for the local government and big business. When most of the news is written by PR hacks why bother to read it?

When they start being journalists perhaps they'll get more people interested in what they have to say. Now they're flunkies for the Democratic Party.

"Despite the importance of journalism, US reporter employment has been consistently falling over the past decade."

Do they consider news readers on TV to be journalists? I suppose calling them reporters is ok.
Confusing.

If journalists are paid anything, they're paid too much.

And yet, the J-Schools keep churning them out. But the actual purpose of J-Schools is not to train journalists for careers, it's to keep J-School professors out of the welfare line.

I have a solution that will save millions. Get an education and get a fucking job. That is how shit gets paid for in the real world.

They get paid what they are worth. Very little.
