The University of Missouri Still Pays the Price for Campus Craziness
Remember the overblown, hysterical protests that roiled the University of Missouri in 2015? Remember how professor Melissa Click called for "muscle" to boot the press from protest sites? Remember how ESPN previewed its Colin Kaepernick lovefest with its fawning coverage of the football team's threat to boycott a game?
MU is terrible.

MU is no worse than other institutions of lower learning. They could make college more affordable for actual students by reducing the currently huge number of administrators, including all job titles incorporating "diversity," "inclusion," "community" and similar buzz words, and eliminating grievance studies majors.

ReplyDeleteToo broke to send kids there? The fed hands out stu loans like candy. Literally any kid can be "sent" to MU. There are no education standards for entry, just a pile of money or a promise to the uni from a pile of money loaned by the fed. So, yes, literally everyone's opinion counts on what the MU system is doing. I'm a 4th gen grad from there and will prevent my kids from going there if that campus doesn't turn itself around 180 degrees. I agree with @8:50; drop about half the admins, and eliminate ALL positions with SJW buzzword-titles. That would be a yuuuge savings right off the top and would again inspire the white middle class kids to start looking there. Of course there are other problems too. The constant "improvements" on campus which have led to exorbitant fees unnecessarily so. The leadership at MU has looked at the pool of students and donors (formerly including me) as a pot o' gold with which they used no financial planning or accountability. Then they continued with the SJW crap and here we are today.

Watch the video of the ambush and then tell me that those students were there for a conversation. Is everything perfect between the races, of course not, but that was the worst way to handle.

Did they close the journalism school?

The muscle woman has to be resentative of other faculty of the journalism department or she wouldn't have been there in the first place.
11:35, the journalism school has to stay open to keep the journalism professors out of the bread line. Now that they've completely ruined their profession, there are no journalism jobs they could fill if the J School closed, and if they were good at anything else they would not have gone into journalism.
