Cop lets stoned driver go, she drives into river and dies

Dash cam footage of a traffic stop involving a woman who later died when her car went into the Missouri River has been released. The footage was released Tuesday as the Jackson County Medical Examiner's Office ruled that drug intoxication was a factor in 20-year-old Toni Anderson's accidental death.

  3. Tragedy that could have been prevented by arresting her at the seen , car towed to the impound lot , she sleeps off the deep buzz in a cell , bonds out the next day and goes back to work , or school, or home to the parents .

  5. There are no questions.

    You're retarded.

What do negroes and tornados have in common? It only takes one to ruin a neighborhood.

  6. Here we go again, blame someone other than who is responsible. It's tragic she died, but if you aren't using alcohol and drugs you don't make stupid decisions. She is to blame for her own death. The law leaves room for discretion, no where does it say you have to arrest, you can, but not you must. Did the officer make a poor decision, in hindsight yes. But if she makes it home then she is telling everyone how she got away with it. Lets stop blaming others and put the responsibility where it belongs, on the person who decided to use alcohol and drugs, lose her way and drove into a river.

  7. Yep^^10:42. Local news says and shows her car was in an incorrect position on a one-way street. The officer in the dashcam stated that to her, and then he advised her to pull into QT and gather herself before driving further. Not sure if she slurred her speech or gave signs of impairment from the very short viewing. Hindsight, 20/20, maybe mistakes enough to go around. Impaired driving charges would have brought a different outcome. Driving sober would have been better chances of the far better scenario.

  8. Whew, for a minute I thought I would have to take responsibility for my actions! Good to know I can do whatever I want and depend on others to make decisions for me.

  9. Cop will be fired.family gets big payout.regardless of personal accountability yadda yadda..Big part of LEO'S responsibility/job,is to ENSURE safety of citizens who are especially ,BLATANTLY incapable of doing so themselves, whether due to mental or physical reasons.Intoxication from alcohol, drugs,or both, being right up there at Number 1.

  11. Damn officer, you done fucked up.

I'm pretty sure that "protecting and serving" includes getting someone off the roads who is driving the wrong way.

Young officer, easily distracted by a nice phat ass and a few giggles and he kinda just forgets his job for a few moments there. More interested in being a "good guy."

  12. You make a mistake in your job and the customer at the drive-thru gets the chili cheese fries instead of onion rings. A cop makes a mistake and he's supposed to lose his job, be sued and publicly shamed. Wonder why law enforcement applications are down by half across the country. Keep it up and soon you will have a great opportunity to tell your very own "protect and serve" tales as there will be no cop to pull you out of the shit when you call 911.

  14. After Toni disappeared I recall we were told by Toni's friends that Toni did not drink. Now we have learned that not only did she drink but she also used illegal drugs. Shame on her boss who claimed he walked her to her car that last evening to insure her safety only to let her drive intoxicated. I recall that the NKC police reported initially that Toni had been stopped for making an "illegal turn" instead of driving on the wrong side of a major street. Apparently the NKC police were hoping Toni would be found alive and the truth never revealed that their officer let an intoxicated driver off with a mere warning. Toni may have reaped the rewards of her lifestyle but the officer's lack of due diligence could have cost other people their lives.
