Considering The Kansas City Bike Scene

More local advocacy for the smarter denizens of the middle-class desperately wanting to avoid identity politics but still looking to attain a higher civic profile . . .

Kansas City's Bike Infrastructure

After a scathing audit in 2016, we check in on Kansas City's bike plan. How have things changed since the audit? What lays ahead for bicycle infrastructure in Kansas City? And how do we compare to other Midwestern cities?

  1. Cyclists are out of their minds to ride on roadways in KCMO. I don't even like riding a motorcycle there where I can do everything more quickly than a car that doesn't see me (accel, decel, turn). Cyclists have no defense readily available: evade, avoid, get out of dodge in a dangerous sitchy.

  2. They want bike lanes where everyone is neatly lined up like assembly line product on a conveyor traveling to and fro to their Latte and Artisan doughnut shops safe from those mean Midwestern drivers racing around.

  3. Just another excuse to write a ticket in good old moochin'KCMO.
