Kansas City streetcar director says new vehicles urgently needed

Kansas City's streetcar financing board on Thursday approved the use of current surplus funds, plus future funds, to buy two new streetcars and related items for just under $12 million. The City Council still must approve the purchase, and the procurement is two years away, but the cars are already needed.

  2. Start charging for rides on the toy train. That will drop ridership like a shot goose.

  7. You guys are funny. The State Auditor is looking at some St. Louis TDD's controlled by private developers who have not followed state law. It has zero to do with the streetcar TDD. Also, 3:31, the 2 new streetcars are ADDITIONAL vehicles, not replacements, and are needed because of demand for service. Please, don't let truth stand in the way of your imbecilic rants.
