On Saturday around 6 p.m., we will start to see showers and storms form along and ahead of a cold front. Development will take place primarily across northeastern Kansas and northwestern Missouri. By 8 p.m., showers and storms will become more scattered across the viewing area and are expected to be reaching the metro by 9 p.m.

Kansas Avenue accident temporarily disables traffic lights

An accident Thursday night at the intersection of Eighth Street and Kansas Avenue temporarily disabled traffic lights for about 30 minutes and resulted in a road closure that lasted nearly an hour. Garden City police reported that a 2001 Chevy Tracker was northbound on Eighth Street at about 5:48 p.m.
