SNEAK PEEK: FEAR RENEWED KANSAS CITY SINGLE-TERMINAL AIRPORT FIGHT!!!

Insight into a long standing debate with consequences for all of Kansas City and the metro. Take a look at an important bit of fact checking:

Brace Yourselves: Another Single Terminal Sales Pitch Is Coming

Kansas Citians have been hearing about the supposed need for a new airport terminal for four years or more. We've been subjected to misleading political proclamations, overwrought editorials, public show trials, listening tours, and town hall meetings. Yet the people of Kansas City have made it clear they do not favor a new terminal.

  2. KC actually spent some money doing teeny tiny upgrades at Terminal C. New seats with connections for phones and computers; new smaller (much smaller) trash cans; fairly clean public areas like restrooms. Still no relief for people waiting for hotel buses or car services. They are forced to hop across traffic an stand on a skinny island in all kinds of crap weather to wait for their ride. C'mon, airport people. You can fix this BIG problem.

  3. If you like your airport, you can keep your airport... uh-huh. As long as a new airport represents a monument to the council's ego and the usual players have a shot at BILLIONS in graft, we'll end up with a new airport whether or not it's necessary.

  4. Just keep spending the poor people's money Mayor sLIE and you'll have a legacy of sending everyone to an early grave. You've already proven you don't care about the rest of the city so keep it up. Downtown, the central core, toy train and the airport are your true priorities. You don't do squat for nobody else. Thanks jackass

  5. why can't Sly take NO for an answer?

Can we put this to a vote so that he can see once and for all that KC does not want to try his scam.

  6. As a regular traveler, Our 45+ year airport is one of the worst in the country, no bathrooms, no chairs, nothing to eat, poor security, no parking in Terminal B, poor connectivity, etc.. It's an embarrassment as the front door to our city and will have significant negative economic impact if not addressed. Of all the projects out there, this one makes sense, users will pay for it, not taxpayers. And for once KCMO isn't alone footing the bill for the whole region. In fact NO Tax $. Be upset on the train, etc... but we truly need a new KCI

  7. This is another KC giveaway. Southwest wants to eliminate the competition. All of the the things the airport cheerleaders claim they want to fix have nothing to do with the new airport structure. It's just about getting the next project rolling.

  8. 12:43 I went thru the airport this weekend and the only thing I noticed is that they are no longer cleaning it and they have managed to fill up the parking lot to further inconvenience users. All of this no doubt to make their case for a new airport. It worked for the sports stadiums, just leave it dirty and don't do any routine maintenance and convince the public it needs replacing.

  9. 1243 why is there no parking in B? Is there nowhere people could park? Oh wait! There is an entire unused terminal intentionally closed to make parking a problem in B- it is a manufactured problem designed to cause people to want a new airport.

  10. But it for "infrastructure" tho!

  11. there's an overt effort to try to counteract terminal B''s attractiveness and convenience by not building a few more bathrooms behind security. might cost $10 million.

    this frequent flyer likes KCI.

voters know any new airport is mainly for the benefit of contractors and airlines, not travelers. bonds would never pass.

    save KCI!
