Local slice of life reporting and realization that Kansas City entertainment districts have become exceptionally cruel.

Take a peek:

KMBC: Family, police asking for help after loved one's ashes were stolen during a break-in

Deets:

"Naida Shipp told police she parked her vehicle in the area of Westport Road and Mill Street Saturday. When she returned to her car, she discovered it had been broken into, and her backpack was missing. That backpack contained the ashes of her deceased brother, David Anthony Shipp."

Sad story. If this were a REAL entertainment district, they would have cameras and better security. But it's westport so the ashes are probably down the drain by now.

Goog thing he was dead. That would have been really painful to steal his ashes if he was alive !

Never leave anything in the car that is visible from outside the car and might be valuable or contain something that is. Not just in Westport, but anywhere in the Metro area. This rule is right up there with do not run into a Quick Trip and leave the car key in the ignition and a baby in the back seat. It is amazing to me that people still do both.

I loved my brother so much I kept his remains in my backpack. Those fucking criminals.

how stupid to be hauling the ashes around anyway. scatter them where he wanted than you would know where he is all the time
