ReplyDeleteSame song, sung so many times, I know, but dang that was a real nice and very safe neighborhood up to twentysome years ago. Our Lea Manor hood at State Line and 99th going east toward Wornall was full of great workadays and some retirees from all levels at telecoms, Marion Labs, Bendix, St. Joe/Carandolet, Rich-Gebauer, fam biz of every kind, and more. Young families snapped up this more affordable area butted up to Old Leawood and Red Bridge, especially for the private schools and excellent property values.
