TKC MUST READ!!! AMID UPCOMING VOTE: KANSAS CITY MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE ORDINANCE OPPOSITION GROWS LOUDER!!!

The latest issue of the Northeast News features an EXCEPTIONAL summary of continued arguments against the upcoming effort to pass Kansas City, Missouri legislation that would eventually increase the local minimum wage to $15 an hour.

TKC may not agree with everything in the column but it's undoubtedly an EXCELLENT summary of the arguments against this political move that's far more consistent and well-reasoned than recent flip-flopping from Mayor Sly James on the subject . . .

Northeast News: Minimum wage maximum protest

Money line . . .

"The move will force a number of small businesses to raise prices to a point that negatively impacts their business model or, like fast food giant Wendy’s has planned, electronic kiosks that eliminate the fast food counter order takers. Such a move would mean a net job loss, but that doesn’t seem to matter to the economically ignorant screaming mobs."

Read the editorial in its entirety.

  1. Let 'em protest... Looking forward to ordering from a kiosk which will do a much better job than some hoodrat w/ a shitty ass attitude.

    1. 643 You will be ordering from a kiosk within ten years whether they raise the minimum wage or not. So that's a lame argument.

  2. I just built a factory that requires 3 ppl per shift to run it due to automation. The moment automation is reliable enough to take orders, make food (or blog) those jobs will be gone. We should still pay people a livable wage nonetheless.

    What does Der Fuhrer spracht?

Doesn't he want to abolish the minimum wage altogether?

We know that he wants to end unions, & it was unions who fought for a minimum wage.

  8. 9:08 Take you entitlement check and buy a TV. Trump has been meeting with unions and they have been praising him and we are not even 60 days into the presidency. What planet have you been on?

  9. Hey Bryon, how do you think he won the election??? The union people in Wisconsin,Michigan, and Pennsylvania voted for him.

When was the last time Obama had a coal miner into the oval office like Trump did???

Man you are way out there, get a clue! ROFL

  10. Man, fuck coal miners. Let them go with the Blockbuster's cashiers and other relics of the past. Learn a new skill.

  11. I live in the cracks of this glistening but dirty little city so don't laugh. I worked as a delivery driver to pay for dental work 10 years ago. I refused to take peoples orders and would rather scrape shit off the floor with soap and a brush. So if the food quality increases in these fast food joints and we can call in with an android app I thinks it's going to work out. As far as 15 and a union, these labor organizers who tell these young people they need a subcontractor to manage their union is borderline criminal. There is a concerted effort by liberals to keep these young people from organizing their workplace.
