If the story about Church is true why was he even charged in the first place. Sounds like a civil matter to me. Prosecutors clogging the jails with this crap while killers get off on a few years served is unacceptable. The DA's office going for convictions of any kind over keeping the real criminals off the street.

For as much as The Intercept bitches about police brutality and legal inequality, they sure are willing to defend the people who are actually putting people in jail for minor crimes...

If your lawyer doesn't golf and buy drinks for the prosecutor you are going to jail. Green fees, cigars and Sour Mash cost big bucks!
