Some Kansas City residents who have been waiting years for Google Fiber to install service at their homes recently received e-mails canceling their installations, with no word on whether they'll ever get Internet service from the company.

Woman sentenced to nine years in fatal crash that killed 77-year-old Johnson Co. woman

OLATHE, Kan. -- Angeline Shelor, 26, of Olathe was sentenced on Monday to nine years in prison for the 2nd degree murder of Lelia Roberts, 77, who died in a crash caused by Shelor in August 2015. Several witnesses told police they saw Shelor driving dangerously fast, erratically and flipping people off just minutes before the fatal crash.

Kansas City woman dies after Brazilian butt lift

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Authorities in Florida are investigating the death of 25-year-old Ranika Hall of Kansas City, Missouri woman. Hall died Thursday after undergoing a cosmetic procedure known as a Brazilian butt lift at a Miami-area surgery center. The procedure took place at the Eres Plastic Surgery Clinic in Hialeah, Florida.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The iconic Plaza Easter bunnies are hopping onto the Country Club Plaza Monday to help kick off spring. The bunnies have been an Easter tradition for more than 80 years. J.C. Nichols came up with the idea as a way to drum up business near the Crestwood shops back in the 1930s.

Her music journey includes singing in the Midwest Opry Circuit at age 10, singing in the Disney girl group The Commotions until joining the School of Rock at 15 and opening for stars like Brad Paisley and the Rascal Flatts.


Kansas City Bus Ride Tribute

Veterans can ride for free on Kansas City bus service

With the National World War I Museum and Memorial in the background, the Kansas City Area Transportation on Monday announced a partnership with veteran groups to provide free bus rides for all area veterans. The KCATA, in partnership with the Kansas City Veterans Administration and the Veterans Community Project, said the free fares are a way to honor veterans.
