KANSAS CITY HOBO CAMP CRACKDOWN AMID LOCAL VAGRANT POPULATION BOOM!!!

Kansas City confronts a homeless problem that very few people want to talk about despite a population explosion among these local drifter denizens which has impacted neighborhoods, downtown visitors and non-profit groups.

Earlier this year we reported on one of the bigger hobo camp that blighted luxury living space near the River Market.

And now . . .

KSHB: Large homeless camp cleared out in Kansas City

Deets:

"One of Kansas City's largest and longest running homeless camps is no more. City crews started bulldozing the encampments near 13th and Summit Saturday morning."

This week we noticed that hobos have been disbursed throughout Midtown and now push Southward . . .

Nevertheless . . .

KANSAS CITY IS ATTRACTING AN INCREASING NUMBER OF HOBOS CHALLENGING LOCAL RESOURCES!!!

Just a few examples . . .

The library is more like a mission or rail-car lounge, downtown parked car crime is of control thanks to the financial needs of more dangerous hobos, most popular intersections are staked out by hobo scamps . . . Meanwhile, the effort to feed and care for the homeless struggles to keep up with the numbers.

This didn't happen overnight and the solution is tragically cruel and counter-intuative . . . The more Kansas City cares for hobos, the more hobos we'll attract. Therefore, this kind of crackdown is essential and probably needs to happen more often . . . As cruel as it seems.

We'd like to know your thoughts, solutions and ideas to confront Kansas City homelessness because local political leadership has passed the buck on this problem to police and non-profits ... What we can't do is follow the lead of the selfish biz and political elite and act like the problem doesn't exist as it increasingly escalates.

What can we do to solve homeless crisis in Kansas City???

You decide . . .

  10. The bleeding hearts complain about others not allowing the homeless and refugees to stay at their homes but rarely do just that. I used to work downtown and would be hassled all the time by these guys for money. People would give them a dollar here and a dollar there until we told them to take the "Jo" bus to the end of the line to Joco where they give the homeless $20s instead of quarters. It worked. Many of them we never saw again. You're welcome Olathe

There is no plan. Let's just tell them to move along, because they're making a mess out of downtown.

  21. Typical Kansas City response. Instead of organizing a temporary camping spot they tear down and disperse so that the problem is spread over the whole city. I can only hope that Sly is sometime in the same situation so he can see the inhuman "answer" the do nothing reaction to some homeless people trying to live free.

  22. This would be a great time to kick the moochers and crooks out of city hall and turn it into a homeless B&B. Where are these fucking millennial grifter protesters when there is a real cause? I guess they are joining the "Save My Pacifier", movement.

  23. Has anyone considered maybe instead of spending tax dollars on bulldozers spend them on trash receptacles and Porta potty's? then send in the social organizations we already have in place. Sure regulation should be in place but the people under that bridge have been there for like 10 years. I think the city has missed an opportunity for lack of problem solving and instead just dispersed and agrivated our homeless.
