Even More KCPD Time Sheet Controversy: Feds Investigate Kansas City Po-Po???

Call it a bit of foreshadowing or a clear sign that KCPD need time sheet reform . . . Take a look at another challenge for local police to overcome:

I-Team exclusive: Police sources say high-ranking KCPD officer under federal investigation

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The 41 Action News Investigators have learned the FBI is investigating a high-ranking officer with the Kansas City Police Department. In November, the I-Team began looking into Major Melvin Harvey after multiple police sources accused him of falsifying numbers on his timesheets for off-duty work, including hours billed to Kansas City Public Schools.

  1. The FBI should come over and investigate the KCK Street dept they have two guys that got paid over $27,000 in overtime they did not work. Bad thing is Doug Bach city administrator knows about it.

  2. I hope/pray the FBI is investigating SLie and his sleazy gang of Developers also.

  3. Hmm interesting timing I wonder Chief resigning has anything to do with this?

    1. Forte put Harvey in charge of all off-duty employment which is interesting but Forte probably leaving for lying under oath.

  4. He probably prefers being in court to ensure he gets his half million from KCMO taxpayers rather then be on the receiving end of a federal investigation.

  7. KCMO is totally corrupted to core. If your one of the few who actually see it good luck.

Most definitely the Chief is aware of what is in the works with a law suit. He'll be under oath for sure.

It's laughable that he is applying to law school.

The truth is surfacing regarding the corruption under this Police Chief.

  9. FBI won't take a look at the millions of dollars in political corruption in Kansas City City Hall and EDC schemes, but spends its time looking at time sheets of a few employees.

We need a real FBI investigation in this city!!!

  11. Yesterday, Forte's resignation.
Today, the FBI is investigating a KCPD officer.

We are witnessing the unfolding of a strategy to rein in the spiraling out-of-control "public safety" budget.

First comes the wave of negative publicity, to drive public opinion against the greedy public servants.

Next, you'll be hearing the calls for reform by the Mayor, Council, City Manager.

  12. HEY, DIDN'T THE SAME GROUP OF OFFICERS, SOME NOW COMMANDERS, WORK OFF DUTY AT A NIGHT CLUB OWNED BY A FEDERALLY CONVICTED DRUG DEALER, INVOLVED IN DRUG RELATED HOMICIDES? CLUB BODY WORKS OR SKYLINE?

    HUMMM?????

    1. No I think your facts are wrong , my uncle owned body works and he is no felon. Now if you would be glad to leave your name I'm sure our lawyers will be glad to serve you for slander. Let's stick to the facts not make up stories. I don't know what goes on with the police but keep my family out of it.

  13. Only one deputy chief fit to be Chief and that is Bob Kuhl solid, normal guy sure he wont be picked....place is embarrassing now The other DC's are a joke with plenty of baggage like first try living in KCMO and second try not eating so much....pathetic leadership

  14. 6:23 don't you know KCK city hall has a life time of get-out-of-jail-free cards? Corruption so deep and long standing the feds look the other way. And that is a fact. Public works is a cesspool of corruption. Dumping tons of asphalt on sick and elderly peoples private property is a perfect example.

When questioned, Mayor Rev tells us these highly paid crooks and their criminal behavior fails under "employee/employer" and swept away behind closed doors.

That's why we call them ALL The Unified Crooks of Kansas City, KS.

If you have worked with them, it doesn't take long to figure that out. We were told a project on our street would be completed in 45 days, it took over 5 months. Standing around with your hands in your pockets for months and not showing up because they have so many days of paid vacation, leaving your neighborhood in a mess for weeks is business as usual.

Everyone else gets away with it, so why not the cops?

  15. Better get a good source on this story. The FBI doesn't investigate political bullshit time sheet cheats. If they are investigating there are some much heavier issues involved.

  16. What's sad is KCPD speaks out against those who refuse to cooperate with police to help solve violent crimes. They beg witnesses to overcome fear of snitching. But yet multiple people inside the PD finally snitch on their own and stand up for what is right and I'll bet no one is supporting them. No one else had the balls to call them out and my bet is they're terrified of what the end game will end up being. I for one don't believe for a minute that Major Harvey's theft Investigation or whatever it is isn't somehow at least partially tied Chief Forte's retirement. They are connected you all watch.

  17. What's sad is a high ranking police officer who's dedicated his life to the KCPD has been falsely accused by some racist cops who's main goal is to hurt him before he retires. Anybody who knows Major Harvey knows he is NOT a thief. He is a man of integrity, strong work ethic, and good character. His reputation is nothing short of upstanding in the community. He has helped younger officers progress within the dept. and during the Summer Nights programs he has gotten down in the trenches with his subordinates breaking up kids fighting when he didn't have to. Those who know the core of him sees the allegations as a joke and because of his innocence he will prevail. Shame on 41 news, the racist KCPD, and anyone else who tries to defame his name. The community, his friends and family stand behind him all the way.

  18. Hmmmmm ....and why this sudden retirement announcement from the Chief? Have to wonder how many dirty hands are at play here.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Harvey is as dirty as the come.

    ReplyDelete
  20. If he's so "dirty" why does his long history and reputation show otherwise. You and your empty, idiotic statement 1:02pm. After 30 some odd years of service how ironic some sources within the department claims he's doing something illegal with monies right before he gets ready to retire. He's so dirty, but there is absolutely NOTHING that proves it. And you can't find one person in the community that would agree with you. Channel 41 news didn't even have a story. Makes absolutely no sense to air that He's being investigated and have no substance or information. You and the racist KCPD are a joke. Major Harvey is a standup guy and his reputable long history agrees. As I said before, he will prevail because He hasn't done absolutely anything wrong, and it's very clear you don't know him at all.

    ReplyDelete
  21. 5:21 and 11:07 you all are hilarious. He's been getting away with his crap for decades. This isn't something new, he just has dirt on too many other high ranking KCPD commanders including the now retiring chief for the department to do something. As far as his reputation in the "community"...the community has no idea what he's doing. As far as illegal monies right before he retires you are oblivious...he's been ripping people off for a decade or more. The FBI doesn't just open up an investigation for no reason and without some proof of wrongdoing. Give the FBI some credit those guys and gals are pretty smart and whoever the whistle blower's within the KCPD are that finally stepped up and did what is right should be commended. But we all know how that's going to turn out. They'll be black listed and accused of racism just like you are doing now. Harvey will retire
and get his money believe dat. He's a snake, always has been and that's the overwhelming opinion of him on the department except for his 15-20 cronies. KCPD will be so much better off without him...good riddance.

  22. If I would have to guess who the writers are at 521 and 729, i'd say it was written by Randy "honeybuns" Hundley.. Wait a minute, I'd be wrong. The guy couldn't even speak a full correct sentence, let alone always dressed like a slob.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'll say this and I am done...His long clean history says it all, within the department and outside of the department. If he's dirty within the department, that same dirt will manifest outside into the community. Over thirty years and not one peep from anyone. Now, he's months away from retiring and enjoying his life without the likes of you and the KCPD and someone(s)wants to be vindictive and hurt his clean reputation (and probably giggling like girls behind closed doors somewhere). And as far as accusing the police force as racist... YES! HELL, Yes! I say it again...The KCPD is one huge racist organization, and it didn't just start with falsely accusing Major Harvey. It's funny how, generally speaking, white people can't stand to see a black man who is confidant, intelligent, hard working, successful AND with authority. Oh yeah, white people can have at it, but a black man? It just makes white people's blood boil, especially within the police department. So even when the FBI finds absolutely nothing, because yes, they have to do their jobs. Major Harvey's name has been dragged through the mud. And you better trust and believe those giggling "whistle blowers" and the rest who are responsible for this outlandish accusation will have to pay the piper. Of course all you haters will jump on the "He's Guilty Bandwagon" without a drop of proof. Haters always lose...Always! The proof is in the puddin' and you ain't got none! So right back at ya 7:29, Mr. Melvin Harvey will be even better without you all's punk a**. Oh, and by the way...good riddance to you, too.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Well 8:54 Harvey doesn't have a clean and ethical history and while it's apparent you know him personally you are mistaken to believe that you know everything about him. There are plenty of people who thought they knew who their friend or family member was right up until the handcuffs went on. That goes for white collar crime, violent crime, property crimes, sex crimes, and yes financial crimes. You think this has some vindictive undertone? Why would anyone do that especially if this guy is retiring. There's more to this than you know and it has to do with honesty, integrity, morals, and ethics. Harvey's problem is greed and making that dollar and putting that before his badge and his oath to citizens of KC. Harvey is concerned with his image and public opinion and that is why he will go down on the sinking ship. You call people standing up against corruption and dishonesty haters when you yourself only know what Harvey has told you. News flash, he's not going to tell you the truth. The facts will be revealed soon enough and you will also learn how this all came about. Be patient the proof you seek will come. Now the real question is what the PD does about it...which I think you just saw how this is going to play the rest of the way. The Chief is bailing
out. Harvey is stubborn and really not that smart and that is his problem. And just so you know the FEDS don't open investigations every time someone says jump. There's a preliminary look at the accusations. If those have merit they officially open an investigation. They are very very thorough almost painfully slow. When they are completed they turn those findings over to a grand jury. So you're rant that giggling whistle blowers are making outlandish accusations and will pay the piper is actually very stupid. Coming forward is very hard to do especially when it's a commander these "sources" are reporting on. While I actually personally believe Harvey will skate because of political pressure and simply ride off into the sunset. At least someone finally stepped up to the plate and took a swing at it. Harvey has tried to intimidate and push around plenty of other officers, sergeants, captains, and even other majors and there are files and hidden reports to back that up. The guard is finally changing and the swamp is draining Harvey's just too big of a turd to go down smoothly.
