CELEBRATE: OUR KICK-ASS TKC BLOG COMMUNITY FORCED KANSAS CITY GO BOND CAMPAIGN SIDEWALK PROMISE DAMAGE CONTROL FROM CITY HALL!!!

Here's a funny bit of "journalism" reaction to our much powerful reporting. A couple of days ago we called out the REALITY of sidewalk promises from the GO BOND CAMPAIGN and their proposed blank check . . . The response is an update about NON-BINDING LEGISLATION from the newspaper ...

The juxtaposition . . . Our blog community can quote CHAPTER AND VERSE FROM THE MUNI-CODE and common KCMO practice when it comes to fixing neighborhood sidewalks which never seems to happen and usually falls to homeowners . . . Meanwhile, City Hall politicos offer only a measly resolution AFTER the upcoming election. You decide . . .
KC council members aim to answer bonds question on sidewalks: Whose gets fixed first?

be fair tkc, everybody promises sidewalks before a vote and hopes people will forget.

it's also strange but I trust Kathryn way more than jolie nowadays when it comes to this kinda stuff.

Fuck this bond! You are a fool if you seriously think the city council will spend any of the money on what they say they will! Do not give them a blank check!

Let me guess. The east side of town will get the lion share of the bond money. Ignore the business districts, 39th Street, Broadway, Main, Wornall...

I would be more afraid of the City actually fixing the sidewalks. I've seen them put in new sidewalks and the contractor must use powdered sugar and play sand. The sidewalks start to crumble and spall within the first year. Beware of getting your wish.

You gonna get lied to when they tell you whose sidewalks will get fixed. They gonna send a report card! Have you read the $120,000.00 worth of four color mailouts! We gonna get a report card. We gonna get a report card We gonna get a report card We gonna get a report card We gonna get a report card We gonna get a report card Sly said it at least 12 times we gonna get a report card. Any time that a politician repeats the message, it means that he knows what the public does not believe and so he says it five more times so that we will get it. They hope we will equate a report card with TRANSPARENCY and doing what they say they will do.
Forget it they will do what ever they want and maybe send a piece of paper that tells you how much fun they had doing what the want to do. TOOT TOOOT TOOOT TOOT.
