TKC QUESTION TONIGHT: WILL MAYOR SLY ADVOCACY AGAINST PREZ TRUMP KILL APRIL $800 MILLION GO BOND EFFORT???

Just a quick question for voters interesting in local rhetoric and its consequences . . .

Remember that our blog community led the discussion about the Mayor's recent airport protest and his reaction has been to explain that he's NOT EXACTLY PROTESTING PREZ TRUMP just standing up for immigrant, women's and human rights . . . That's nice but the subtlety of that argument will has been lost on most of his constituents.

And so here's the question . . .

WILL MAYOR'S SLY ANTI-TRUMP PROTESTS HURT THE UPCOMING $800 MILLION GO BOND ASK FROM MANY VOTERS WHO SUPPORT THE PREZ???

Behind the scenes, far more Conservative City Hall interests want the Mayor to focus on City Hall biz and money for a slate of infrastructure projects rather than playing bullhorn activist.

You decide . . .

Comments

  1. Sly and Trump have more in common than most voters think.

  2. There are a lot of reasons to vote against it. This is just one more.

  3. It's fine with me if it hurts the effort. I'm working three jobs just to pay the water bill.

  4. Sly's not really looking out for anyone's rights.
He's a slick salesman trying to hoodwink the public with grandiose dreams and empty promises.
All this marching around and giving speeches with his bullhorn are just distractions from the utter failure of KCMO city government to address even the most basic issues of the city's residents and businesses, starting with a serious and effective effort to curb the violence and murders.
A vacuous show like this, temporarily supported by debt, can last only so long.
But managing the exit is likely to be too tricky to manage.
Goodbye to the perennial KCMO electeds' question, "What are you going to run for next?"

  5. Sly could be out making a ton of money as an attorney. He doesn't get anything but crap as kc mayor, trump stands to get many billions more in business deals to line his pockets.

  6. Trump doesn't give a shit about city dwellers. If you are not part of the 1% he doesn't give a crap about you. He is not impressed with you unless he can fuck you or make money from you. If you are not able to do one of those things for him you mean nothing to him.

  7. he's changing the subject from KCMO carnage, that's why he's protesting.

but the protests feed the sense of despair and anomie, so it's very cynical.

    no, it doesn't help KCMO.

  8. not many trump voters in kcmo city limts

  9. Please continue to forward any activities that are reported to have the mayor advocating against White House policies. Trump will hold Sly and KC accountable for not following legal directives. Fed funds can be re-allocated to non-sanctuary cities.

  10. Trump is outraged at Sly. Insiders say he has a plan and it involves Federal funding. Please invite Sky to all protests- take pictures of him- and forward them to the whitehouse website so Trump will know what a terrible mayor KC has. The wrath of Trump will find Sly.

  11. It'll pass.

The people against it come off as shrill nitwits, after all.

    And everybody knows it.

  12. Got to keep the city propped up for another three and half years with all the tax cuts and incentives he's handed on a silver platter to Corporations and developers.

Who knows maybe the columns will start crumbling before he's out and he won't able to blame it on whatever clown becomes KC's next mayor.

  13. It's easy when the people you are "helping" are too stupid to understand any of it.

  14. In the bigger picture, it just confirms one fact that we knew all along the protesters have no end goal, aren’t accomplishing anything, and people are starting to get sick of them.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Trump will build a wall around KC and Sly will have to pay for it ...of course he will use your money like he always does.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Whens he going to keep his promise to fight crime?
Or does Trump need to come to Kansas City to do it?

    ReplyDelete
  17. It is really amazing that we have had the wool pulled over our eyes. I thought that Mr. James was a good guy who really was developing Kansas City. This latest buffoonery of waving a red flag in front of President Trump has convinced me that he is like some have said "Arrogant and aggressive" in his delivery of a message. Photos of him with a bull horn paint him as nothing other than a street thug amplifying his voice. I will VOTE NO on the $800 million Bond as he is probably misrepresenting that also.
