Friday just a bit before the work week concludes, our KICK-ASS TKC BLOG COMMUNITY wants to provide a bit of fact check reality about the so-called economic benefit of the Cerner campus that's pretty much an island to itself . . .

About 20 years ago our family lived several blocks from where Cerner is building. We could see what was coming and fortunately we sold our home and left the area before the prices dropped. Now I read where the problem invades the Plaza area on weekend evenings. It won't be long before you begin to see pay day loan businesses and liquor stores at 47th and JC Nichols. So glad Kansas City is in my rear view mirror.

ReplyDeleteAnd is anyone shocked by the armed guards.....they'd be foolish not to have them......Neil must have gotten a hell of an incentive from the city to put it there in the first place otherwise who would want to have a business in that area.
Even Mr. K had a secure campus in that area when Marion Labs built their facility(now a Cerner facility). This place is designed to be a safe work environment that makes a lot of money for Neil Patterson. I'd protect my investment, and that of the taxpayer too if I were him.

A prosperous white enclave in KC must be guarded 24-7-365. It is as a submarine or a space station, located in a perpetually hostile environment. One crack in the glass, one pinhole leak and the whole thing collapses and blows.

ReplyDeleteBuilding a secure campus with all the amenities necessary so that employees never have to leave during their work day (or especially night) was ALWAYS a part of this plan.
ReplyDeleteAll the "it's good for the community and will bring jobs" crap was window dressing from the start.
The city subsidized this operation to the tune of over $1 billion and it will benefit the neighborhood and KCMO financially virtually not at all. In fact, most of the employees won't even be Missouri residents, much less be living in KCMO.
It would be helpful if city voters would elect people to KCMO government who at least tried to represent the public instead of make believe they were amateur real estate developers, but that certainly doesn't define the current gang.
Or seem the least bit likely in the future.
Taken for a ride by slick development attorneys and big very wealthy corporations.

Given the Cerner corporate culture, I'm surprised the guards aren't there to keep people in. That would be Neal Patterson's wish; his slave-driving, creepy and hilarious email cursing his employees is justifiably famous.

ReplyDeleteOn the surface, it seems counter intuitive to criticize efforts to actually improve a city.
The problem for blacks is that it simply proves the point that in a short time, whites can dramatically change an area for the better, where blacks dramatically changed it for the worse. Whites can create organization where blacks cannot.
Whites can restore prosperity where blacks destroyed it.
It hits too close to home that these people are failures in civilized society and is counter to the dogma of oppression that must be maintained.
It's been said a million times but what really needs to happen is that the government's "Feed & Breed the Negroes" programs needs to come to a screeching halt. Until that happens, negroes will continue breeding out of control thus gaining the numbers needed to turn even more cities/areas into Africanized shitholes. As long as the government continues down this idiotic path, Shaniqua and all her baby daddies will keep having multiple worthless children at taxpayer's expense who will then repeat the pattern. It's the same pattern one sees in Africa with the civilized world providing them with food, modern medicine etc- they simply go berserk, breed out of control, their populations explode and voila! They begin invading Europe looking for more freebies due to population pressures, poverty etc. Why civilized nations engage in the idiocy of subsidizing such dysfunctional behavior leaves me almost speechless.
