ONGOING KANSAS CITY HYDE PARK BURGLARY CRISIS INSPIRES NEIGHBORS TO LOOK BEYOND POLICE PROTECTION!!!

For more than a year Hyde Park has endured an EPIC crime spree that includes home invasions, violent teen flash mobs and near riot conditions on some weekends. The response from local elected leaders and authorities hasn't seemed to impress these residents.

So they're taking matters into their own hands.

Take a look:

Fox4: Overwhelming number of break-ins motivate Hyde Park neighbors to take a stand

Deets:

"A group of people living in the South Hyde Park neighborhood said they are no longer solely relying on police to patrol their neighborhood, and are taking matters into their own hands. Ruth Schmidt, who is helping organize the effort, said the group is looking at several different options which include hiring security, purchasing surveillance cameras or volunteering to patrol the neighborhood themselves . . ."

And so . . .

WILL THIS KANSAS CITY NEIGHBORHOOD MOBILIZATION WORK OR DO THESE LOCALS NEED TO TALK OPENLY ABOUT ARMING THEMSELVES AND/OR MOVING???

Developing . . .

  1. Burglars attacking my old area? This can't happen. I remember when I caught someone brake into my home on Charlotte. Let's just say he regretted coming into my home.

  2. Better start to learn to protect your own neighborhoods.
KCPD in not dependable, and they don't do a good job even if they show up.
Chances are if you call the Police they will just make the situation worse.

Get guns, lost of them, have training classes on how to drop a subject in one shot. Myself I'd just walk up to them pulled my pistol and bitch slapped them upside the head. Amazing how that makes a man start doing what you want him to.

  9. This is what happens when you live close enough to black people that is too easy to drive over in their Caprice Classic to rob people with actual jobs and possessions.

  10. Remember, the POLICE show up AFTER the fact most of time !!!

I started patrolling my own neighborhood years ago and caught several criminals, they haven't been back since, and everyone knows in this neighborhood,,,, you don't Fuck around or else !!!

The Beginning of the Movie Goodfellas the TRUNK Music scene is a prime example !!!!

I (as a law-abiding citizen) openly applaud these folks. It is a shame that our city has allowed some of its nicest historical neighborhoods to have decayed to the point where this sort of action is necessary. But, maybe once enough legally tooled-up homeowners have euthanized these out-of-control criminals, our city will provide adequate police presence in all of our neighborhoods. Until then, they will hopefully invest in some more coroner vans for these wayward intruders to have their carcasses hauled off. I personally look forward to all of our local "BLM cop-hating community activist" to laude how theses "misunderstood urban youths" were met with excessive force from a sleeping soccer mom, in her living room, uninvited, in the wee hours of the morning. Hyde Parker's, my your aim be true and your conscious clear. Hood-Rats, Thugs, bangers etc... If you are gonna gamble, prepare to lose.

  16. BREAKING!!!!!!!

    Hyde Park residents pay:

The 1-percent earnings tax which largely supports police/fire.

    The Public Safety Sales Tax

    Property taxes

    Sales Tax

and all the other taxes heaped upon KCMO residents

NOW, because KCMO has been mismanaged for years, Hyde Park residents feel they have no choice but to rely upon each other, and their combined private contributions to provide essential security services for themselves.

This situation is exactly what is happening across the country, primarily in urban neighborhoods, where residents who have remained within the city are finding they can no longer depend upon municipal services for basic needs such as police security.

Hyde Park may emulate what other neighborhoods have turned to, cordoning their neighborhood with walls and gates, privatizing the streets, and paying for their own security/street maintenance.

  17. Chief Forte must be fired!!!!! The crime in case his city has grown beyond his ability to handle. He turned his back on the community when he destroyed community police. He lost his members last year when he called them racists. The city council and mayor must remove him and find someone that understands the whole community's needs. Fire him, and fire him now.

  20. KCPD is not a professional police department.
Kansas City would be better out sourcing the job to private security firms.

  24. I live in Hyde Park and am very happy there; however, I am aware of where I live so I have properly secured doors, windows and a security system. Many of the break-ins have been due to broken or open doors and windows. I may be wrong, but she appears to be some suburban millennial (Iowan maybe, KC seems to attract them in droves) wanting to live the cool urban life minus the inconveniences of living in a multi-cultural urban area.

  25. One breakins fail to mention that it was an Air BNB , and the burglar let themselves in
That didn't stop the unnecessary hysteria of a few home burglaries , considering there are 1700 homes in tbe area.
Wanna talk burglaries got to Valentine
