Craig Talks Kansas City Comedy Weekend

Quick note from our pal Craig about his weekend plans . . .

Eddie Ifft At Stanfords This Weekend

Eddie Ifft has become an 'international star' says the Kansas City Star, yesterday in a story on the American Comic who is number one in Australia. Eddie once teamed with 'down under's' Jim Jefferies on one of the top podcasts out there today...'Talkin Sh..t' and today is nearing the end of that long running series to start a new one for a reality tv series. Ifft also co stars with Tommy Chong on the '420' specials for cable.

Eddie worked with Jim on his tv series, 'Legit' and has been seen on numerous shows including 'Chelsea' and his own special on Comedy Central. Ifft is a bit more tame these days having just had a baby girl and moving to Malibu. When he leaves Kansas City next week, he will head back to Australia for two months of theaters and shows. Ifft has been kind enough to make me a semi regular on his podcast over the years. I did it live a couple times in LA and he records me here in KC when he does his standup each year as well. He enjoys KC but hates the cold weather, join the club. Don't hold it against him that he is from Pittsburgh. He did pick KC to win the game this Sunday.

You can catch Eddie Ifft with KC young comic, Tom Larson, at Stanfords this weekend. Shows are at 745/945 Friday and Saturday, Legends, Village West. For tickets call the club at 913 40 7500 or order online at stanfordscomedyclub.com. He will put you in good mood and bring the laughs. Next week Stanfords presents one of the hottest comics out there today, Kevin Farley. Kevin is the brother of Chris Farley and produced and starred in 'I Am Chris Farley.' Kevin stars with Billy Ray Cyrus on their number one hit tv show on CMT, 'Still The King.'

  1. MoDOT, KS Emergency Service and PDs urging all travelers to please stay the fuck off the highways this weekend.

Freezing rain, gusting wind , 3/4" of ice will make for horrific traffic conditions--a little fender bender could result in a 20 car pile-up due to inability to stop on sheet ice.

Do yourself, your community and first-responders a favor, and enjoy some great hoops and football this weekend- have neighbors and nearby friends over - but stay off the interstates. Be safe..be warm. Go Chiefs!

  2. More "Chelsea" rejects and never-weres.

No thanks, if I need a good laugh I'll watch old Norm MacDonald appearances on Conan.

  3. Eddie who, never heard of him. I have a huge TV, great cable, why would I need to waste my money on crap like a comedy club?

  4. Eddie is damn funny, heard him on 98.9 this morning, couldn't stop laughing. His 420 shit with Chong is great. I'm going Saurday the early show. National Weather Service, no snow or ice tonight and only 20% chance Saturday. So the report was bullshit.

We just wrapped up a briefing with the US National Weather Service Kansas City Missouri and we are still on track for total ice accumulations between 1/4 and 1/2 inch by Sunday afternoon. While these totals are significantly below what occurred in 2002, this would still one of the more significant ice events since then.

  7. It will be certain death for anyone out driving this weekend. TV people say millions of accidents and no one will rescue anyone. Just because temperatures will rise above freezing and melt everything is no reason to take a chance! Let's be very afraid as the TV media want us to be and just watch more TV to find out how scared we should be. We need to buy thousands of dollars worth of food to last is til Monday and hoard gasoline even though we can't drive because we are scared. Today was awful even though it didn't rain and thus no ice- Why? Well- the media said it would ice up and travel was forbidden even though the streets were clear- yes- it was awful because it COULD have been! I have to go- I need to watch TV and see what I should be scared of next. No comedy for me...I am tooo scared to laugh.

  8. Bwahahaha, the real comedy here is the fact that Eddie gets to go into the studios at 98.9 while Glazer has to sit in the parking lot if even allowed that. How do you explain to all these people who come to town to work for you Craig, that you're banned from a whole building full of radio stations? That man friends is what real comedy is all about!

  10. Someone take a photo of the three people in the audience Saturday night. Surely sane folks are not going to go slug down drinks at a comedy club in he middle of the ice apocalypse.

  11. WHAT STORM ASSHOLE, NO SNOW NO ICE.

  12. It's terrible out! Don't go anywhere like the media said- dangerous. I just opened my freezer and saw a huge ice storm. Saw the rapper Ice Cube. Comedy Club? I will just keep watching all the wrong Meteorologists make more dire predictions and laugh my ass off as I stare at my dry street and sidewalk...

  13. 12:01 & 1:55 prime examples of the type of idiots that like Glazer.
