These downtown boosters must have grown up in Cow Pie, Kansas.
If breathless hype were money, KC's streets would be plated in gold.

  3. I don't understand how people are visibly crying in public over a baseball player they didn't even know. Sure, I guess it's sad when a millionaire with a good throwing arm dies.

    I agree with 7:21.

21 soldiers/veterans will commit suicide today, cry for them instead.

  9. Byron since when do you give a shit about soldiers...I'm sure they are privileged in your half blind eyes as well.

  10. CRY for them?! Byron, how 'bout after wiping away tears, we show concern by direct help to vets. It's been a blessing for my family of making friends among vets and volunteers while trying for a little decency. Perhaps, one or all of the following efforts can be acts of love and gratitude. There's volunteer work at vet events, lobbying for adequate mental health care, assist with a young deployed family's needs (low rank pay is LOW), or even lead a funds/supplies drive for the soldiers' care packages.

I know a group of vet friends in the Ozarks who do all of the above listed deeds, plus other work. It was good exposure for me to several highly skilled trades, and useful in learning tips on real good tools. We've built, repaired, and modified homes. Vets' cars and boats were fixed or serviced. Those recently required encapsulated foam dock lifts were installed with no labor costs.

Plus, a Secret Santa and surprise birthday gifts appeared for many years. Nobody says they know who provides, but there's a retired actor and a retired country singer rumored as involved.
