TKC MUST SEE!!! KANSAS CITY ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVISTS PROTEST ON THE PLAZA TONIGHT TOUT UPCOMING ORDINANCE TO BAN HORSE CARRIAGE RIDES!!!

On a cold December night, Kansas City animal rights activists seemed exceptionally committed to ending the Country Club Plaza horse carriage ride tradition that many consider cruel.

A crowd of about two dozen protesters at its peek held signs and talked to local newsies about their cause and opposition to the longstanding Country Club Plaza tradition.

Everybody seemed in a good mood and it wasn't an angry protest in the least as protesters and purveyors of the carriage stood next to each other in the cold.

Fun fact for those who don't already know . . .

ACTIVISTS SAID THAT THEY'RE WORKING WITH COUNCIL LADY THERESA LOAR TO DRAFT LEGISLATION CALLING FOR A BAN ON PLAZA HORSE CARRIAGE RIDES!!!

There are similar bans in other cities but this legislative move not only comes after an injury crash last week left a horse trapped beneath the carriage and hurt riders but also relates to an animal shelter which leads the upcoming $800 MILLION General Obligation vote desperately advocated by City Hall.

And so . . . While the protesters seem earnest in their request . . . The bigger picture tonight is that this demonstration is part of the argument to keep City Hall funded for the sake of cute animals that everybody loves.

We'll have more images and video from the scene tomorrow but this evening we wanted to send a shout out to newsies, protesters and horses who were out in the cold.

Developing . . .

  1. Kudos to the protesters.

    They nearly outnumbered the media.

    Nowadays, that's an achievement.

  2. The local television "reporters" are pathetic.
Five "protesters" and a couple signs and there they are to bring it to you live!
Meanwhile 120 murders in the city and none of them have the guts to stick a microphone in Sly's, Justus', or Cannaday's faces and grill them on meeting the most basic responsibilities of the offices that they've been elected to.
    Life as entertainment!
All rights and no responsibilities for outcomes.
Kind of a never-ending college experience.

  3. So this is how you spent your Friday evening, Botello?

Hilarious. And also sad. But more hilarious than sad.

  4. Know what's really sad? We will eventually put a man on Mars, and beyond. It`s inevitable. And when we do, it will be because of white people.

If however, the first couple of attempts should fail, it will be because we insisted on diversity and tried to, once again, bring blacks along.

Blacks don't give a fuck about space exploration. All they know is that's money we aren't spending on them. To be curious and yearn for greater things is definitely "acting white".

The Mercury 7, and the space program in general, showed what white people are capable of. Ferguson, MO, Dorothy Dow and Amanda Blackburn showed what black people are capable of.

    Godspeed, John Glenn....

  5. So, to stop wasting time bitching about jigs, lets do something about it. Where is the most lovely place we can move all our families to and start making our own white territory? Constructive action is the most important thing to consider. We are all over the country and not unified. That to me sounds counter productive. Especially all the keyboard bravado we have and strong feelings of segregating our selves for the survival of our race. Now is the time. These fucks will have us outnumbered in 5 yrs. We won't have a chance in hell or a pot to piss in. Submit your ideas here. I'm ready to get the hell out of Missouri and want to make real plans for a white nation.

Also, fuck horses. This is important.

    Fuckin idiots.

  8. Yes by all means, lets have Theresa Loar, the Chairwoman of the Small Business, Entrepreneurship and Jobs Committee, draft legislation that will kill a small business and put people out of work.

I swear, only in this town could something this idiotic take place.

  9. Anyone else catch the complete ABSURDITY of horse-drawn carriage protesters (most of whom were women) standing in front of Victoria's Secret on the Plaza?

On a cold December night, when there are human beings in this town at risk due to homelessness, hunger, bitter cold temperatures, domestic violence, and crime, how is it possible that these people can overlook all that and decide to spend their time protesting against a lawful business which treats their animals humanely to provide an entertainment service? And this is a task which is easy for the animals to carry out.

BAN HORSE CARRIAGE PROTESTERS ON THE PLAZA!
    PUT THEM OUT TO PASTURE!
THESE PROTESTERS ARE DANGEROUS, ARCHAIC, AND INSANE!

  10. Teresa Loar will save the day. Search the Star and Pitch archives for a long history of questionable political and business dealings.
Before the 2015 election she promoted a scarf business from her Gladstone, Clay County, apartment(per the Star). Outside the Platte County Council District she ran from for election. Helling, Kraske, Sanchez and rest of media protect her as if she were Hillary.
