On Friday, a Kansas City anti-violence group sponsored by City Hall and supported by nearly every anti-crime association in the region will consider this horrific racial profiling effort promoted by the National League Of Cities . . .
The title:
"IN SUPPORT OF ACTION BY THE CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL (CDC) TO ADDRESS VIOLENCE AMONG YOUNG AFRICAN-AMERICAN MALES"
Here's the key passage that should inspire fear no matter what the demographic background or political bent of the reader . . .
WHEREAS, The loss of African American males in the community as a result of homicide and high rates of incarceration further impacts the community by reducing the number of males who may serve as role models for young African-American males; and
WHEREAS, the only increased federal, state and local attention to this matter can help reduce the violence that plagues many young males, generally, and African-American males, specifically.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the National League Of Cities calls upon the United States Congress to direct the Centers for Disease Control, whose primary responsibilities are to monitor public health; detect and investigate health problems, foster safe and healthy environments, and implement prevention strategies, to monitor, detect and prevent violence among young males, generally and young African-American males, specifically; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Centers for Disease Control, develop a holistic intervention designed to address the health related aspects and implications of violence among young males, generally, and young African-American males, specifically . . .

Throughout this bloody year we've heard about the importance of "community outreach" and developing stakeholder-based solution. Now a directive to the CDC not only racially profiles young African-American males using the same cynical calculations promoted by white supremacists but also passes the buck on what can be done at the local, grassroots level.

While the horrific logic and faulty reasoning of the legislation under consideration by City Hall and Health Department officials might sound reasonable in the bubble of municipal bureaucrats and so many taxpayer subsidized activists. The language of this resolution is condescending, dangerous, divisive and worst of all . . . Ineffective.
This year Kansas City confronts a slaughter on local streets that shows no signs of stopping and neither pompous legislation nor rhetorical tricks is going help curb the killing that only police and neighborhoods can work together to confront.

This is a public relations effort by the National League of Cities (think large Democratic Party urban centers) to deflect responsibility from their failures onto a federal agency whipping boy.
Just imagine Sly James and Rahm Emanuel (Chicago) speaking to the media, explaining how the federal Centers for Disease Control bears responsibility for the record homicide count and level of violence in their cities. "It's not our fault!", they both whine, to whoever is gullible enough to listen.
Young black males are responsible for most of the homicides in KCMO, but then you already know that if you read this blog...don't you? Go to the KCPD website and reference the public data which has been cited in this comment section multiple times this year.

Maybe we need to rethink our national arm chair policing effort and create a single national uniformed police force that patrols the streets of or cities to apprehend those violating Federal law as well as assimilating State felonies. Then lets watch the President, Attorney General and pathetic politicians arm chair quarterback street events. Perhaps in doing so would set a single standard for LE personnel, a single standard for enforcement and a single threshold for dealing with the animals who are destroying this country.

Identity politics has to go. It is not helping black "victims" of violence (liberal think the perpetrators are the victims). It doesn't help the black (or white) real victims of the violence. In life, you are either a victim or a perpetrator, and these killas are perpetrators, plain and simple. We need to call them what they are. If we define them, we can eliminate them by incarceration or rehabilitation. If we cannot define them, we cannot solve the problem.
