We always respect the analysis of the leading mainstream media pundit from JoCo but in this instance, even the Mayor's polling suggests that the Greater Kansas City area disagrees with his insight . . . And this move could one day lead JoCo to build a better airport that would rival what could be Kansas City's greatest folly.
Either way, Mr. Rose writes a thoughtful piece worthy of consideration in the ongoing debate that features movers and shakers against the vast majority of residents who value the convenience and low cost of the current configuration and don't want politicos screwing it up: What if a new, single-terminal Kansas City airport never gets off the ground?

We don't need airports anyway. Thanks to MU graduate engineers like me, Missouri highways are a privilege to drive on anywhere you go.
ReplyDeleteSo don't waste taxpayer money on an airport, use it to give me a big fat Christmas bonus that I deserve.
Instead of flying spend your money on gas in MO to drive and fund my coffers.
M-I-Z
Who is Steve Rose again?
ReplyDelete"What if a new, single-terminal Kansas City airport never gets off the ground?" That would be a good thing. We don't like it when our airports levitate.
ReplyDeleteNobody cares what Steve Rose thinks
ReplyDeleteHe should mind his own business in Kansas.
Build it out in JOCO and they will come.
ReplyDeleteWhat we really need is a whole lot less of Rose and Glazer both. Fuck those two silver spoon fed idiots.
ReplyDeleteAnother media clown with zero experience in public administration, but by God he can be quite the authority on what KC should be doing. So nice of him to be willing to spend the tax payers money. BTW: What city does Steve baby live in?
ReplyDeleteBuild in at the old Sunflower Ammo plant site. It would me a million times more convenient.
ReplyDeletethis is proof that the big money cabal is still operating behind the scenes to promote another profitable project.
ReplyDeleteproblem is, the folks are on to what's going on and the folks don't want a boondoggle airport with long lines and convenience for airlines and businesses but not flyers.
go ahead, make my day, put it to a vote.
Widening I-70 to St. Louis would be the way to help travelers and the Missouri economy.
ReplyDeleteGreitens should present Trump a shovel-ready proposal.
The elites find public votes and democracy so encumbering to their omniscience.
ReplyDeleteInciting to avoid a public vote is scandalous on its face.
Also, empty threats about Kansas building a commercial airport are so absurd that they reveal the weakness of the case for a new airport. A new commercial airport in Kansas ain't gonna happen.
Yeah, we need Steve Rose's 2 cents worth of advice.
ReplyDeleteHasn't figured out he's irrelevant now apparently.
ReplyDeleteSteve Blows?
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, the Steve who reasoned that spending over a BILLION dollars for a new airport terminal was justified, because late one night when picking up a family member at the airport he couldn't get a sandwich!
True story!
Steve Who? Tony are you reading the writing on Bath Room stalls again.
