Bike KC Weighs In On City Hall Bond Issue

These cyclists were one time a formidable force in local politics until they were straight up suckered by the streetcar folks. Now their ranks are older, balder and not quite as enthused to do anything beyond those rent-a-bike kiosks that everybody ignores 5 months out the year. Accordingly, and we'll have more on this in just a bit, here's a list of their demands: Streetsblog.net

This is a perfect example of how this bond issue will become a slush fund for every special interest in the City. Unless there is a specific list of projects, totaling $800,000,000, and bound by law, I will vote no.

Approving the city to use $800,000,000 to pay Cordish, Cerner, Oxford on The Blues bills, and keep other favorite sons and sisters happy with expensive studies and occasional trips to Spain...............and.......

This bicycle advocacy group is more interested in promoting the trolley than helping bicyclist. Check their website; they are advocating running a streetcar track down the Trolley Trail.

7:33 Sly learned how to keep the money flowing from KCK's former mayor and former city manager. Both were and are employed by KCMO and share law firms and finance boys. At least you get to vote on the matter. We do not. Backroom deals and backroom boys rule. A few get rich and the rest of us pay.

We pay Leawood taxes and live in a third world dump.
