TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! TRANSIT ACTIVIST CLAY CHASTAIN STARTS KCMO CITYWIDE 'RAPID STREETCAR' PETITION EFFORT ON TURKEY DAY!!!

Here's FIRST WORD about Kansas City's most prolific petitioner serving up his latest effort to fix the toy train.

Take a look:

Clay Chastain and supporters begin collecting signatures for new rapid citywide streetcar initiative (slated for April 3 election) beginning Thanksgiving Day

On Thanksgiving day we all have one more thing to be thankful for in America-that the people can still petition their government for grievances.

In our case, the voters of Kansas City said in the November 8 light rail election that they wanted a better transit system for the city in that a rail plan designed to meet that desire garnered 41% of the vote. It did so without an organized campaign behind it and plenty of establishment opposition in front of it.

So, we want to use that election momentum and apply it to a new leaner rail plan that uses the streetcar system we now have and transforms it (streetcars will now run faster, with fewer stops, and in their own dedicated "Greenways" separated from traffic) and expands it (streetcars will now go citywide connecting the northland to the southland and the eastside to the westside) into the smartest, least expensive and most efficient rail system in the nation. The great people of Kansas City and the city itself, deserve no less.

Thus, we believe this innovative rapid citywide streetcar initiative will not only roll into the Winner's Circle in April, but will also become the catalyst to power the Kansas City toward becoming a more livable, sustainable and transit-oriented city.

Happy Thanksgiving Kansas City...Clay Chastain...Kansas City Community Activist

  5. Clay a plan to get rid of the black people would get a much better response. You'd be a local hero.

    Go for it!

  6. Clay wants to wreck the streetcar from within. Don't sign, don't let him do it.

  7. Clay Chastain is Kansas City's Donald Trump without the money.

  8. KC was a livable, affordable, sustainable city before the so called progressives moved here from small towns in Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska to tell us all it wasn't.

  9. Clay let Tony entertain the brain dead rubes of KC now buddy. Your work is finished. Take a vacation. Or find another city of idiots?

Why should Clay go away? His light rail effort earned 46% of the vote. There are a lot of people who support what he is doing and think we should have streetcar across KC.

I'll be signing his petition with pleasure!

  12. A fast streetcar is that what we already have?

  13. A fast streetcar is an oxymoron.

  14. Clay needs to stay in VA and stare at titties over there- leave the women of KC alone.

  15. Clay calls himself a community activist. If he was truly a community activist he'd be trying to do things that truly benefit the community. Here's an idea, instead of Clay spending all of his time trying to get a hair-brained light-rail initiative passed that'll include raising taxes, how about he work to force our local government to actually lower our taxes.

But no, he's only doing this light-rail thing for the glory of Clay Chastain. I really think he's going to spend the rest of his life trying to get something passed in KC that obviously the majority of the city doesn't want and realizes it can't work financially.

So much for promising to go away when the last one failed.

  16. But this time he is promising a FAST streetcar. Are they going to throw the slow one away?
