As the weekend and the onslaught of the holiday season approaches, a word of warning is in order courtesy of Kansas City Insiders . . .
LOCAL VIOLENCE TYPICALLY SPIKES AROUND THE HOLIDAY SEASON AND THIS YEAR THAT TREND THREATENS TO PUSH KANSAS CITY'S MURDER COUNT TO RECORD HIGHS!!!
Right now the homicide count stands at 107 which is a nearly 10-year-high for this time of year.
We talked to a local crime expert and here's what he said about the deadly holiday season trend coming our way . . . Here's the word:
"The holidays aren't as bad as August but they run a close second when it comes to increased violence and crime. Domestic assaults tend to rise along with robbery and theft as people are doing more shopping while criminals are more desperate for money -- Compare that to the rise in drunk driving arrests among drivers going to parties. In terms of domestic assaults, families are coming together more often and the holidays creates stress for many families facing economic distress. Yes, there is a slight uptick in violence around the holiday season and some years it's worst than others, which is largely dependent on the weather."
And once again a hard freeze seems just as effective at preventing crime as so much talk about community outreach.
Tragically, the Chief of Police claims that police could not have prevented these murders. Therefore we want to put the question to our blog community . . .
HOW CAN WE CURB THE LEVEL OF KANSAS CITY VIOLENCE AND KILLING DURING THE HOLIDAYS?!?!
There's no simple answer but it's a shame that more people aren't asking the question.
Kansas City waited for a year for solutions from the citizen task force against violence and their recommendations were largely ignored. Now as we approach the so-called "season of peace" we find local leaders at a loss for how to prevent further Kansas City carnage at year's end.

women who are facing domestic threats during the holidays should try their best to find a way out. Don't worry about ruining christmas for the children, just leave in order to avoid being killed or seriously hurt by a domestic abuser.

A question that is essentially "asked and answered" by virtue of the efforts over the last 50 years, money, set asides, quotas, Affirmative Action, thousands of pieces of legislation, MSM obfuscation of the reality, political obfuscation of the reality, assigning blame to "society", assigning blame to "white privilege", assigning blame to "Institutional Racism", tinkering with the statistics, electing and appointing blacks to any and all jobs available in government, "Plaques for Blacks" ceremonies, the list is endless and reveals one and one thing only.

The Progressive/Fascist/Democrat machine, in NO way, want blacks to change from their communal, atavistic, violent activities. The "Narrative" of Racism is the lubrication greasing the wheels of the Democrat party. In addition, those same violent thugs, are the ever ready stand by enforcement arm in the streets of that same odious and criminal Democrat party.

I can't imagine what further damage could have been done to society if Hillary got elected. The stench of PC would have deteriorated our society even further. DeleteI'm not sure what you want the police to do. For the most part, KC homicides are not drug or gang related, the police can do something about that type of crime but people killing over arguments, not a whole lot the KCPD can do.
