There might be a few Kansas City dweebs who complain about this all-white political panel but the fact is that more people among our KICK-ASS DIVERSE TKC BLOG COMMUNITY watch the public tv talking head show on this blog than any other place in this cowtown . . . Therefore, our AWESOME TKC FREE SPEECH DISCUSSION kinda even things out.
Anyhoo, here's the description for tonight's show . . .
"Mike Shanin interviews Wendell Cox, principal at Demographia, about an essay he prepared which details the strengths and weaknesses of the Kansas City metro. ReplyDeleteLoved Crosby, the magnifying glass was a RUCKUS classic. Presley was vacuous. Grill tried to hard. Sandres the star of this show.

ReplyDeleteNow that they have their panel selection apparently fixed in regards to presenting a balanced Right vs. Left viewpoint, what bothers me the most is the caliber of the panelists.
Case in point:
Last week, once again, they invited Theresa Garza on the program. Is there no shame? Are they unaware of her local political malfeasance?
This week, we're subjected to another Mike Sanders episode. Now, make no mistake, he's a bright guy, but he's also the former County Executive who abruptly quit and has yet to give a full explanation. Why reward him with these appearances on Ruckus?
Likewise, Jason Grill certainly seems to be a nice guy, but he last served in the MO House years ago, and is another example of someone who went to law school but hates practicing law. Did you know in 2006, the newly-elected Grill was accused of sexual assault? The case went nowhere when the woman later refused to cooperate.

RUCKUS should take panel applications from a large number of viewers, screen for basic intelligence and speaking skills, and then rotate them through. Those who distinguish themselves could make a 2nd appearance.
All your competitors are do the wrong thing. Then why couldn't Mayor Sly James had capitalize on that? Is the Mayor an agent provocateur?
