Kansas City Toy Train Streetcar Part Deux Prevents Infrastructure Improvement

From our favorite, local number crunchers . . . An important examination of how touristy frou-frou is hurting other parts of the city downtown.

Description of the clip . . .

"Kansas City’s aging infrastructure is in need of nearly a billion in upgrades, but streetcar advocates are pushing for a $250 million expansion line. Should a new streetcar line really be a top priority?"

You decide . . .

Thanks to President elect Trump we don't have to deal with this kind of crap anymore.

There won't be any more money for the streetcar and KC is going to have to cancel its plans.

Truly a vote for Trump was a vote against the streetcar. America won!

I'm just waiting for Mayor Sly James staffers to start their BS about how TKC works for Show-Me, as if bloggers were ever qualified to get real jobs.

Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!

The streetcar extension = MORE CRIME on the Plaza.

Where's the federal money for the new streetcars after the old ones kept breaking down?

I wish KC would be more transparent in their accounting.

"Funny how the Sho-Me Institute never mentions that Rex Sinquefeld owns 4 homes and they never give any real solutions or plans to improve mass transit. Trump's election won't have any real effect on the streetcar and the extension is a done deal."

Actually, they do give real solutions--more and better buses that don't require fixed rail. In other words, they give solutions more real than yours, trolley boy. You just don't like the solutions.

And who gives a fuck how many homes anyone owns and what has that got to do with anything?

Toot toot. Another ad himinem herf derf. Hoot. Pothole. Crunch. Clunk. Call in the buses.

That tourist attraction is costing us about $10 million a year now. Guess expansion would double that yearly cost.

Dear Kansas City leaders: Please fix the aging infrastructure. This is your job. Why are you being paid if your not doing your job? We pax taxes and water costs to have this done. Where is the money going if you are not fixing things?

KCMO tried a streetcar experiment and it did not work out.

Expansion??? The debate should be about whether it is shut down or not!

Take the Max bus idiots! No need to tear up streets for seven years and spend $250 million. Problem solved.
