Missouri CCW enjoy a great deal of freedom but that comes with more responsibility.

"TKC, just wanted to inform your blog that the guy in the Twitter video pulling a gun is in for a world of trouble. You should know that I'm CWW and a staunch supporter of the 2nd Ammendment but what we saw from that video is simply a dangerous and possibly illegal display. Let me quote one of my favorite websites that explains this much better than I can. Here it is: "Once you pull your gun, you have—in effect—threatened to use deadly force. If you are not facing a deadly threat, you are committing a crime."
"I teach a CCW class in KCMO and here is the passage of the newly revised gun law that I make my students aware of: Weapons offenses - Missouri Revised Statutes Section 571.030.1 Article 4 states that it's unlawful if a gun owner "Exhibits, in the presence of one or more persons, any weapon readily capable of lethal use in an angry or threatening manner" What this means is simple: Flashing a gun is not an acceptable deterrent to a threat. You only produce your weapon if you are going to fire it.
"I'm not taking sides in this argument, I'm just showing you what the law says and what most CCW instructors tell their students. For the sake of everyone involved, I'm glad no one was hurt and I would advise everyone to get their training before carrying a gun even if it is no longer required by Missouri."
Like it or not, this TKC reader makes a crystal clear argument backed up by Missouri law and gun owner resources as this altercation offers a preview of more gun fighting in the future.

ReplyDeleteit's a matter of perception. The woman behind the wheel was clearly becoming unhinged and could have killed them with her car. I think the guy handled himself with a great deal of reserve because he did not fire his weapon. I'm sure that no charges will be filed because he did the right thing to protect himself without firing a shot. We need more people willing to stand up for their rights in KCMO if we are going to keep our city safe.

This guy will probably pay for the thousands the city has allowed to plea out to lessor charges.
Totally true. You can only pull a gun legally if its a situation a reasonable person would define as a life or death threat. Seeing that white people are very fragile & scared of everything, I imagine a jury of his peers may find a seated woman yelling at him to be very scary.

That's why Jan. 1, 2017 - the start if Open Carry, Open Season - will be such a game changer for the race war that's clearly already in progress against human whites. There will be a lot of bloody drama now that the ignoramus-infested states of Missouri and Kansas are making it possible for people with absolutely zero training, either in competent gun use or gun safety, to obtain firearms. They need not have ANY experience firing weapons. Hard to imagine ANYy state legislature being this irresponsible, but there you go.
It takes regular practice to use a gun effectively. Especially a handgun.
Even regularly practiced, experienced shooters, such as police and soldiers, regularly blow holes in objects and people they are not intending to shoot. That is because handguns ... pistols ... are the most difficult firearms to shoot accurately. And these are the weapons that are now being carried more and more on our streets.
Also, unlike TV and the movies, bullets often go completely through objects such as walls and humans, and cause further mayhem and destruction. Most of us in this part of the world live in houses with flimsy walls of sheetrock, lumber and siding. Even shotgun rounds have this problem, contrary to popular opinion.
Your next-door neighbors have guns? Unless you live in a house of brick or stone, with no windows, you should be very afraid.
All this is stuff you need to think about before you start carrying a gun.
This situation is exactly why cops get their panties in a bunch when you go to video tape them. That video is the drama queen's friend. So make sure you video the police and next time they pull out their weapons on a petty offense let's see how anxious the local libtards are for justice.

ReplyDeleteAccording to the referenced KSHB story the case in under investigation and there is nothing there to indicate anyone has been charged in the incident. So where are we getting that his guy is in a world of trouble. It could be that the driver might get charged given that she damn near put the male and his pardner in a ditch while driving and playing with her phone. If her driving put the male and female in fear of their lives or great bodily harm it is quite arguable that the actions were entirely reasonable as the male had no idea what condition the driver was in - only that she damn near just killed his ass with her car. This is the same situation you see when a police officer shoots someone who nearly hits them with a vehicle. Additionally just a few months ago there was a shoplifter shot by a CCW at Sunfresh (23rd and Sterling) in Independence where she handled her vehicle in a manner that presented a threat.
ReplyDeleteI don't give a shit who instructs what. They aren't a lawyer and saying you are not picking sides when you are picking sides doesn't earn a pass. There are plenty of circumstances, perspectives, states of mind, etc. that don't get presented in blog arguments and we have no way of interviewing all the parties or gathering all the facts. That is exactly why there are investigations.
Is there a reference to ANYTHING that says this guy has been charged with anything, in a world of anything, or is this just another example of possibly being wrong for the sake of trying to be the first one guessing right? The guys is not charged until he is charged - period.
If his gun was holstered at all times, he did not "pull his gun." Whether you wear the holster on your hip, on your side or in your hand, a holstered gun is not a pulled gun. It was a bad move, and he should know better, but not criminal.
