Not so long ago this group garnered hundreds of thousands in funding and claimed victory when cold weather stopped the killing a couple of years back . . . Now these activists have been keeping a low profile in between balloon homicide vigils . . . Like it or not, even among the denizens of the urban core there is very tepid support for this group. ReplyDeleteThe problem isn't that the MSM don't know anything about this "organization" or care that it has produced ZERO results.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is the electeds in KCMO don't provide any oversight to any of these "programs", demand no accountability, and labor under the ridiculous idea that they can delegate away their responsibilities to the residents for basic services like public safety while they run around celebrating themselves, cutting ribbons and making grandiose announcements, and shoveling subsidies out the door to developers.
Aim4Peace is funded by both KCMO tax money AND funds from the Health Foundation.
Does anyone have the guts to pull the plug?
Of all Programs in City government, this is the one that should be audited.
ReplyDeleteWhat has not been said here is that the Aim-4-Peace activists will not disclose or pass on any pertinent information to the police that they may learn during their "events" or "interventions". That's right, they will not share information that could help solve any number of crimes, including homicides. This is OUR tax money they are given and the amount of dollars that has been thrown at this miserable failure is astounding. They are self-serving and answer only to their own agenda. Not only is an audit needed, this group needs an oversight committee to supervise them and demand actual accountability for their activities and expenses. Everything they do should be absolutely transparent.

ReplyDeleteI have no problem with the Chicken dinner outreach. But I saw a video and where a woman hits another woman with her cane and an ass kicking ensued. As she was getting dragged out the door people were laughing saying, "call the preacher!"
