Frank White and Jean Peters-Baker now at war:
Frank White's hiring of Caleb Clifford to be his chief of staff is already having dire consequences at the county. For those following along, Caleb, one of the least liked people in the courthouse, went to work for Frank and ditched Mean Jean's office without much notice or warning. Now, with Caleb serving as his top adviser, Frank will once again strategically play the "rookie" card and "sit out" the November COMBAT election leaving all of the heavy campaign lifting to Jean. This is an historic ducking of responsibility by the county executive's office, especially given that his office and the jail is the primary beneficiary of the funds, and the executive has ALWAYS run the campaigns before. All this has brought the tensions between Baker and White administrations to the boiling point.

Frank needs to resign. He isn't cut out for elected office. He's managed to ruin his reputation in less than two months.
ReplyDeleteHave friends that work at the courthouse. They say Frank, although very nice in public, is the worst exec the county has ever had by far. Start looking for an exodus of anyone that has options for jobs elsewhere.

If he is pissing off some old timers and the standard company line with regard to monies spent in the past, he might is probably doing something in the interests of the taxpayer. We are all so shocked, we just don't recognize it.
Me, I like that he lets Veterans play golf at Longview for a reduced price on Wednesday between 10 and 2PM. That doesn't mean that I want him to help bring the Toy Train by my house on it's way to View High Drive, but, again, if he is pissing some one off, that is probably a good thing.
Good for Frank White! No one ever hears of COMBAT until they want more money for the people they employ. It is a jobs program....no other result to the community,

I think some people have missed the point here, Fran is all in in favor of COMBAT, even supported putting it on the ballot. He's just to self-centered and lazy to actually do any work to pass it. Oh, his hand will be out, like his getting his son that cushy 6 figure no-show job at the KCATA. He's just to lazy to steal himself, he wants other to do it for him.

ReplyDeleteThe dirty secret that nobody thus far is willing to tell is how Frank was fired from his Blue Cross gig because he was sexually harassing the women. Anyone that knows him knows he's lazy, selfish, and has very few redeeming qualities other than he could play 2nd base. Jackson county is in for some dark days ahead.

ReplyDeleteThe first good decision he has made to print. COMBAT no oversight since Stacey Daniels Young took over following Nunnelly and Tindal lead in who to fund unfit by their mission of helping crime in KC. Since no other dept wants Carol, and she is scheduled to retire there is really no need for combat and their inflated salaries and control over millions. Even agencies that an employee family fund has on their roster is on combats roster. Conflict- maybe but as long as Tarwater and Waites closed meetings continue this department lost its way when Claire left and Skippy further cushioned the committees to review combat to blue star their performance against the final decision of the group who knew the legislature had too much control and the objectives were lost. Frank is smart to stay out if this one. This is their bs:
