This evening/morning we're getting multiple reports of shots fired from throughout Midtown Kansas City and even near our beloved Crossroads.

Drunk Dude Headed Downtown
"Out of his mind drunk on Southwest Trafficway tonight. Looks like they called 5 police cars to pull him over and I swear I saw him puke when they opened the door."
First Friday Fighting In The Crossroads
"Hipsters out of hand . . . TKC, you're buddy Trump has inspired some bad behavior in the Crossroads. Police out in full force and a couple of the "art" crowd will be spending the night in jail. Pretty sure they where holding but once again it started as a "domestic" disturbance between these loft dwellers. Also, a lot of people bitching about the food trucks tonight. No regulation at all and there were more than a few merchants begging cops to tow the illegal food trucks out of here."
Finally, our most descriptive and dangerous comment . . .
"I swear I just heard about 10-12 gunshots in rapid succession followed by a car speeding away...somewhere west of 39th and Wyandotte (i.e., toward Broadway and the usual Westport area where this stuff is happening).
"Now there are sirens, and they seem to stop in mid-wail when they arrive near the general direction of where I heard the shots.
"It must a Friday night in Westport . . . "

ReplyDeleteNowadays you just hang out in the area from the Crossroads to the River Market at night. Westport is fun enough but there isn't anything there that can't be had somewhere else.

Wake up sheepeople! A quick check of crimereports.com from 7/17 to 8/16 (1 month) for an area covering roughly the river market to the Plaza, Broadway to Oak shows 90 assaults and 45 robberies, for 1 month! Be careful when downtown!
