AFTER THE TKC BLOG COMMUNITY FIRST REPORTED THIS EPIC COURT DECISION . . . THE SCHOOL BOARD HONCHO STEPS DOWN!!!
Here's the word . . .
"School board president Shawn C. Kirkwood resigned from the Hickman Mills School District board and Evelyn Hildebrand will be sworn in . . ."
Credit where it's due . . . A broad coalition of South Kansas City residents stood up to this challenge to local Democracy and the ensuing conversation about this effort includes a great deal of talk from our blog community about the impact of Cerner and new jobs on this school board drama that is, just now, starting to get sorted out thanks to the efforts of KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS.

It's never about the kids. It's always about administration and school district 'leaders.'
ReplyDeleteNo actual good schools in this entire area (Kansas City) since the late 60's.
Since then, there've been million$ paid out to useless, pathetic users that never gave a fuck about a child's education.
Gotta love progress like this.

ReplyDeletePretty sure the district is going to be in trouble until it gets rid of the superintendent. After destroying one of the most sound, research based early childhood programs anywhere in Missouri and replacing it with a rushed to start all day program which does more harm than good he had the audacity to ask for permission not to live in/send his own kids to the program.... then lectured teachers at the start of the year for not choosing to live in the school district! Double standards, race baiting, and excuses that place the blame everywhere but where it belongs are why this district will not be improving any time soon.
