Kansas City's Richest: Min Kao

From the Biz Journal . . . "Although the Kansas City area has a handful of the world's billionaires, only one holds a spot among the nation's most wealthy elite." TKC Spoiler: It's Min Kao, co-founder of Garmin, who was recently (and unwisely) ranked as one of the richest dudes in the nation.

Imagine that, a rich man in KC who didn't get there with taxpayer money.

It's really neat that Garmin is local company

But why is it that the richest man in the region and one of the most successful tech companies don't relocate to downtown KCMO where all the excitement and the creative class are?
Why have they just expanded in Olathe?
Where do most of the Cerner people live?
Something's wrong with this picture.
