Local organizations, activists, nonprofits, many millions of tax dollars, programs at every level of government, foundations, and all the rest.
And the parents?
And the churches?
And the "leaders" of the community?
It never changes.

Men are protectors, providers, and defenders. That is what they do best, and that is what women and children need. Unfortunately, the federal, state, and city money doesn't tell them that. I am glad that somebody else can do it (for free). Too bad we waste our money for the other stuff.

"INNER-CITY BOYS" ?

You gotta love this euphemism!
They can't even say the word "black" anymore.

Just like Mayor James trying to make the whole of KCMO responsible for the record-breaking homicide rate, when all evidence points to a concentrated area within the East Patrol Division.

Responsibility and most black males do not belong in the same paragraph.

When "it takes a village" becomes the mantra why do you expect young black men to take responsibilty?
