Kansas City Murder #101: Deadly Shooting Near Maple Woods Community College

An altogether violent weekend contributes the local murder count and quotient of violence as another killing this month spikes the local homicide number.

More interestingly . . . This KILLING OUT IN THE NORTHLAND shows violence rising in every neighborhood of Kansas City.

Here's the report:

Police investigate homicide near Metropolitan Community College

  1. This week, in particular, displayed the ignorance of city leaders not to understand what we want as a city. Homicides broke the 100 mark, shooting in city market, plaza and Westport are just the beginning. City hall hasn't cared year after year when police staffing was reduced. The mayor had made the police budget a political statement and allowed bodies to stack up on HIS doorstep. Now that crime has approached the areas where law abiding citizens can no longer go and be safe they speak up. I realize this is a new council, but two of them were on the sham of a anti-crime initiative that didn't have a single law enforcement officer on it. They released their findings and didn't address the single major issue, policing. Jolie Justus will probably run for mayor, but her district is under siege. How in the hell will she ever garner the support of an entire city if she continues to pander to such a small demographic? She can't, she's turned her back on people in hopes of political favors. Canady has made it clear that she has no love for the police, but continues to chair the Public Safety committee. The people in her district need to identify her replacement. Voters don't want, or need, a councilperson who chooses to battle with those who protect them. Kansas City residents must make our city staff realize that we won't put up with this anymore. This isn't news, we all have heard that police staffing is a problem, but we wrongly ignored it as rhetoric from the police staff and union. Now we know it's true. We just listened to the mayor talk us into voting for an e-tax that needed to be renewed because public safety is too important, but when he had chances to provide real funding he failed to lead. This week he told us we cannot afford any more police officers. Why didn't he say that two months ago? His words WILL be used against the e-tax vote next time. We cannot vote for any new taxes, bonds, boondoggles until he understands our needs. Public safety is the single most important issue to the voters, and if politicians don't understand that they don't deserve our vote.

This week proved one thing, this city needs help. The police department suffers from bad leadership and changes need to be made. If the police need more money for jobs then changes need to be made. If the wrong leaders are on both sides of the debate than changes need be made. The tax payers deserve better leadership, city hall deserves better leadership, public safety deserves better leadership. No matter what, the voters will be watching, and evaluating, who those leaders will be. We need to vote for those that decide to listen to us. We must let them know we won't put up with new ventures at the cost of our safety.

This city took a huge step back this week. This discussion should have never happened. This city deserved leadership, not politics.

  2. 12:09 sounds great. Now all we need is leadership not afraid to crack down now black people. We have a black mayor and police chief so they should have the political wherewithal of do it but they're going to go with de-policing instead. Black people, left on their own devices, will destroy everything they touch.

  3. I can remember when boons were afraid to go north of the river. Thanks to progress and libtards we have now spread the crime out all over the fucking metro. We need to bring in the wrecking crew and clean this shit hole up. I know Jan 1st will help put a dent in the ones you can get to, but it won't be enough.

  6. 15 to go with 62 days left in the year. Hmmm, that's about another one every 4 days. Tick, tock, tick, tock the clock is ticking and the days are growing shorter. Time change and 2 more full moons might just contribute to ratio. 116 ROCKS!!!

  8. Sorry, but if im not mistaken , the McRib will make its annual and heavily anticipated (BY LEO) return, begining sometime in November. The tasty sandwich never fails to please the jigs..and in return, shootings and violent crime go down.

I do not think we'll hit 116. The McRib is so strong, that there are rumor's going round , COMBAT will offer a voucher to each verified gang member,THREE McRibs sanwiches for the month they are on the menu..

Folk's, breathe easy.A bit of clarity and peace is almost here!!

  10. Maple Woods is at 152 Hwy and Indiana about 20 minutes from where this happened. This is off 435 and Front St

  11. Yeah it's south of the river where this happened, not the northland. It has a north address because it's north of. St. John which is like the east west Main Street

  15. it's too easy to see the violence as a geographically-constrained phenomenon.

    it will eventually spill over.

so, even if one ignores the immorality of not addressing the crime wave, practicality indicates a self-interest in other communities insisting it be dealt with.
