Kansas City Community Policing Conversation
While locals continue to kill each other at a historically high rate, at least there hasn't been one of those nasty riots that cable TV news loves to celebrate . . . Accordingly, here's link worth a listen:
KCUR: "In the U.S., tensions between communities and police seem to be at an all-time high. As we witness trust deteriorating and fear escalating on a national level, what is being done locally — or not being done — to make that relationship between police officers and communities work?"
For the most part we agree that police are their best advocates and real ground level outreach might be the key to avoiding social unrest.
On a more cynical note, this chat doesn't address the underlying premise of their conversation that KC Nova, COMBAT, AIM4Peace et al. might be nothing more than a civic cash allotment for riot prevention.
