An impressive collection of history and writing chronicling Kansas City's signature cuisine . . . This article offers a bit of hope for the future given that local social media has been savoring this study in local food culture and not just passing around and forgetting it like most Internets clickbait listicles . . . Really great writing here . . . Take a look: Kansas City's Best Barbecue - 435 Magazine - October 2016

ReplyDeleteI want to try Q39.
Rosedale BBQ now and forever.
ReplyDeleteBarbecue is boring. The Chiefs are boring. The Royals are boring.
ReplyDelete^^^ Wrong. You're boring. Go find something interesting to do and come back later.
ReplyDeleteToo many BBQs are cheap on serving size , don't get the significance of deep smoking meats and flake out on the sauce. Give me a joint that loads up a fat ass plate and I'm more than will to pay for the orgasmic experience of great BBQ. Give me a damn biscuit with meat and call that a sandwich and I'm through as a customer. BBQ is just meant out be a gut full and an experience. The corporate ass holes that get into the BBQ game with their electric smokers, frozen plastic pre-paks, shortened smoking times and the rest of that crap just sucks. Call me a heart attack, but I want plenty, I'm willing to pay, but make it good. If I don't walk away belching and farting it was a waste of time.
ReplyDeleteI went to gates a few years ago, dropped 50 n left hungry... used to pick up the stack on wornall, the quality of meat suffered, the quantity of portions suffered for the 30 dollar price tag... jack stack is expensive, 75 for the platter, but it's a harty home run every time
