COMMUNITY NEWS CONDEMNS KCPS!!!

While local mainstream media gives Kansas City Public School a pass on their horrible performance according to the Missouri Assessment Program . . . In local neighborhoods, community news is calling out the tragic FAIL following a slew of big promises.

I believe this shared image is from The Call and accurately notes the ongoing decline of the district.

  1. That's funny because The Call is one of the worst written bullshit propaganda rags you could ever read. I havent picked up one in nearly a decade. Let's talk about all of the government cash they've accepted over the years to slant stories they publish. The pot is calling the kettle black.

  5. Who do these women think are going to be sent to die in the next endless war? A nation of father free households and tired single mothers who raised their children on soy milk, gluten free this or that, can't eat a peanut without a trip to the hospital is the answer to that question. Foolish women who believe Hil and BillyBob gives a damn about them or their children. Sad days in America ahead.

  7. Wow, this is news! Thank you so much for letting me know that the KCPS sucks. Since I am locally educated, I didn't know that. I need to have somebody tell me.

  9. I realize this article is about the KC Public Schools, but not far away, in many ways, is Hickman Mills. It seems the head honcho in HMSD is doing all he can to model this school district after the KC - huge tax payer expenditures on his pet projects, magnet schools, non-neighborhood schools, and brand new offices for him (with a private bathroom for personal contemplation) and his side kicks. And them when it all continues to fail blame it on racism. I really wish there was some very serious reporting done on what a mess the district is in and stop the head honcho from painting a picture of progress. This guy came here from Georgia and tells the teachers and staff that the Missouri accreditation doesn't mean anything - he plans to get an alternative accreditation while thumbing his nose at the State. He consistently dismisses the views of the teachers and staff who have worked and work with the students and community on a daily basis. His ego and arrogance are getting in the way of true progress - if there is any to be had. And then there is the School Board and it's maneuvering to keep unelected members in place all to placate the head honcho.

  10. Maybe the reason KCPS has some of the worst schools in Missouri is it also has many of the worst students in the state.

  11. Ditto 8:37. The only thing I would add is that Carpenter came here from Georgia where he was DEPUTY Superintendent for OPERATIONS. This man doesn't know the first thing about how to turn the Hickman Mills District around.

  12. So what else is new?
We got the worst crime rate too.

  13. 11:20 He sure knows how to run up debt with all sorts of gimmicks, misrepresentations, and half truths. He was instrumental in having the district publish in print and on the district website many misleading statements related to the bond issue earlier this year. And shame on the voters and many so called community leaders for taking it hook, line and sinker!

  14. Amen! to 11:20.

  15. Where's the outrage in Hickman Mills? Isn't anyone paying attention to the condition the district is in? Why is Dr. Carpetbagger given free reins (or is it reign)? He "has all the answers", refusing to listen to those working directly with the students and community, and especially refusing to listen to anyone other than those he has hand selected. He refuses to consider the opinions of the community and staff members who have a history with the District.
