KCMO American Royal Deal: Kansas Tricked!!!

Aftermath perspective that doesn't regret that loss of a local icon but instead laugh that Sunflower State politicos are picking up the tab for this money losing monstrosity: Kansas City leaders giggle as Kansas commits $80 million to the American Royal

  1. Sly laughing about someone else being shaken down and taken to the cleaners by a company after all the money he's shoveled out the door just goes to show how clueless he is.
Maybe he should review what the taxpayers are on the hook for with the Cerner "development".
    Sly's first priority is Sly.
Just keep that in mind and you'll never be surprised.

  2. I guess they will have to lower the 24 million number of tourists down to 23.9 million after losing the Royal.

  3. there's a kernel of truth in this comment.

the good news for the public is that the royal will still be in metro kc.

and, the royal may work better and have more attendance in a better venue with parking and safety that seems assured.

that part of the metro area also is creating a destination effect, like a theme park. for example, with convenient, cheap motels, maybe more tourists from rural nebraska and iowa will come.

  4. Uh huh! KC leaders are also laughing at the stupid white folks who are shelling out for the Negro Buttball museum and 18th and Vine. All you have to do is look at the four pieces of sputnik looking shit at Barttle Hall to get a hint of the serious thinking that goes into blowing money in this town.

KCMO city hall has allowed NASCAR to win in Kansas because our black leaders really considered it a gathering place for red necks while we continue to dream up project and waste money on grifter business that wont ever be in a position to generate the kinds of revenue that make the tax payer investment worth it.

Before we start patting ourselves on the back around here we need to take care of our own dirty laundry and bad decision making.

  5. KCMO lost the World Series of Barbecue and our leaders are laughing & giggling about it! The American Royal hosts more than 50 events annually, attracting over 270,000 visitors, and has an economic impact of more than $60 million annually. The fools at City Hall don’t seem to joke about the biggest folly of them all in KCMO – the streetcar.

  6. Kansans never were the sharpest tacks in the barrel.

Look at who they elected and re-elected governor. They also didn't legalize selling drinks in bars until the 1970s or '80s. They didn't all have electricity until the 1950s. They sell guns to mental patients and ex-cons. They shoot doctors who perform abortions, and they shoot them in church on Sunday. The unofficial state religion is the Westboro Baptist Church. They consider themselves better than Missouri because they've quit fucking their relatives. Most of them.

Kansans are damn lucky we didn't revoke statehood and send them all to Albania or some other foreign shithole.

    1. As a Kansan, I agree with some of your comments. But if you're from MO, and I presume you are, I'd reconsider before bringing Bible-belt antics and incest into the equation. MO certainly isn't lacking in its population of mouth breathers.

  7. ^I guess you haven't visited crookville KCK for awhile. KCK is already a foreign shithole.

Holland and the other gang members are giggling too. I've seen them laugh and joke about how to slip another tax increase in the April elections. Less turn out, sure wins for their endless corruption.

As long as the usual suspects gets their cut, who cares what side of the border this built in failure will be constructed.

8:43 it's always good to hear from the bought and paid for members of the Unified Government gravy train.

  8. The Joplin tornado had an "economic impact" of more than 60 million but did it make Joplin rich? Economic impact is the most idiotic term ever used but the Chamber boys keep touting it because it keeps bringing in the subsidies.

  9. The only economic impact is on the the middle class in KCK. Their paying the bills while all bribe takers in City Hall, BPU and court house continue to see their net worth increase each year. Property owners not on the UG pig payroll are getting the hell kicked out of them. Chamber boys in KCK, former-mayor Reardon is their leader. No big surprise this deal has their blessing.

  10. There are several slime ball wanna be big shit commissioners that need to be outed also.

  11. This is another example of want occurs when THE GRIFTERS have the keys to the public treasury.

Here's some of their best work to fund the phony foundations they're so deeply, deeply committed to. Companies are forced to pay to play. www.pitch.com/news/article/20562321/was-wycos-hollywood-casino-grant-fund-defrauded

Do these phony foundations make nice retirement funds? Do these projects make nice retirement funds too? The Legends made and is making a few very wealthy. The multiple bankruptcy bailouts have been very profitable. Property owners paying for this corruption with their lives.

Ever try and fight your property tax bill in KCK? Assessors so busy playing with their phones and reading 3 inch novels, there's no time to give you the time of day. Another cushy UG job. Ever try speaking to your so-called commissioners about this? Ya right. Double talking fools.

  12. After giving the Cerner boys, Patterson and Illig, over $1 Billion in subsidies for Bannister this is what the City gets in return!!! Thanks, Sly!!!

    You are clueless!!!!

  13. 2:27 pm – at least Cerner brings jobs to the area. You need to be concerned about the wasted money spent at 18th & Vine and the trolley.
