Activist Alonzo Washington Warns Against Kansas City Cycle Of Violence & Vigil Culture

Recently, activist Alonzo Washington shared important insight into the local crime dilemma that deserves a look:

Alonzo Washington: "Many of these shootings victims & killers are the same folks in a continuum of urban violence in KC."

Via his Twitter account, Mr. Washington has encouraged his followers, fans and friends to stand up against local crime and cooperate with police in order to curb the murder count on both sides of the State Line continues to escalate. One of the many highlights of Mr. Washington's social media endeavors is his dedication to encouraging tips while providing powerful criticism against other crime fighting groups and publicity stunts that haven't proven as effective as simply talking to police in the aftermath of violent crime.

  1. Suspects become future homicide victims.

That's the Kansas City way. Killer karma in this town.

  2. With the lax prosecution and low bail in Jackson County, I'd be reluctant to tell the cops I saw any illegal activity. The person you tell on could be left on the streets while the cops run speed traps, or if arrested, out on bail before you can buy a new box of bullets to protect yourself. And if the crime ever went to trial and you testified, you'd be a dead man walking when you got back to your neighborhood.

If cops would arrest open criminality when they see it (open air drug dealing that's been going on for 30 years or more is one example) and the prosecutor would prosecute and the judge sentence some time in jail, you might put a lid back on the wanton violence plaguing our older parts of town with no cooperation needed from the neighbors.
