Reports of Kansas City Country Club Plaza crime persist as the embattled entertainment district endures a wave of late Summer violence.
Remember that this is just across the street from the Winstead's where two theologians were beaten last week.
Fox4KC: Man is carjacked at knifepoint in parking lot of popular plaza restaurant
Deets:
Police say a man was in his car, in the parking lot behind Café Trio just east of Mill Creek Park. That’s when the man says the suspect jumped in, pulled out a knife and told him to get out.
“I just, I just think it's terrible that this happened here.”
The suspect drove off westbound into the plaza and hasn’t been seen since. As dozens exercise nearby and couples take in the view, they say they’re saddened that even in the places they feel safest they now have to keep an eye out for danger.
Sadly, no suspect description around this heavily trafficked area near a busy intersection and Mill Creek Park.

I noticed earlier that facebook is trying desperately to say that this is "east" plaza but that's total b.s. Cafe Trio is right on the plaza and only about 100 steps from the friggin Cheesecake Factory.

This should be a wake up call for ALL BARS on the Plaza. Time to pay up for extra security and not just leave the safety of their patrons up to chance. This is no longer the Plaza of the 1980s, the threats are far more real.

ReplyDeleteIt appears he's lost the support of his department, and he kicked the community in the balls with his community police reduction program. I called my city councilman. The only way it gets fixed is for all of us to do the same. Demand some accountability.
Forte is not going to stop tweeting. It's good for AT LEAST $540 a day when he tweets off duty. Which is pretty much every day, sometimes twice a day. He's making a killing off the killing.

If you actually sat down and talked with any of these folks, including the chair and members of the public safety committee, you'd find that they don't have a clue about what's going on in their own police department, much less about public safety issues in the city at large.
And it's impossible to provide oversight and hold people accountable when when you don't even know what questions to ask.

Sick of our so-called leaders sticking their heads in the sand and not stepping forward and sending a message to the cowardly thugs who are out there preying on our citizens that this will no longer be tolerated. FACT 5. It would take cops 40 years to kill as many black men as have died at the hands of others black men in 2012 alone.

ReplyDeleteForte puts in for all the comp time he can. Minimum 6 hours a pop for anything he does off duty at $90/hour. Since no one knows his actual work hours (he's never around) you can bet whenever he makes a crime scene or tweets, he's off duty. Everyone on PD has a comp time cap except him. He has around 3000 hours amassed which is growing and he cashes out upon retirement. He also says he has not used any vacation days since he has been chief (doesn't have to, he's never around) and he has been allowed to carry them over by the BOPC. Another huge cash out.

They have done it to every halfway decent venue in Kansas City and across the nation. They get their toe in the door, then start the crime, petty theft, getting mouthy and trying to intimidate. Everyone else leaves and they own it. It is high time lazy ass Peckerwoods, Asians, Indians and others put their foot down and started taking out these slime bag sonzabitches.
