  3. Yeah, if the city grants this fully expect just about every hotel in the city to follow with this BS claim. Kinda like TIF. First person got then it opened the flood gates for others whether they actually needed it/deserved it or not.

It's total and complete bullshit. As mentioned in the piece, they just want to get money they don't have to report as revenue. They could just raise their rates but they'd get taxed on that. And they can't have that.

It's funny, we make all these concessions to make life easier for the rich and powerful in this city yet the city is about to ask us for a tax increase to fun $800 million dollars in infrastructure repairs. Anyone see the justice in that?

  4. this is the way crony capitalism works and will work going forward, until it evolves into something worse.

voters haven't been and won't be smart enough to chose leaders who are good.

  6. Right after Sly pushes this latest subsidy and misuse of tax incentives for yet another wealthy corporation, he'll be hitting the speaking trail to moan and whine about income inequality and raising the minimum wage.
Talking out of both sides of your mouth is a skill that he's developed over the course of a law career and honed to a high level during his tenure as mayor.
And with the low-information found on abundance locally, he may very well go far.
    On YOUR dime.
    Frosty.
